RV Parks in Vegas

We are getting ready to leave on our trip in a few weeks.

On the way home I think we are going to spend a night or two in Vegas.



Can anyone recommend a decent RV Park not to far from town. I have heard of Sams Town and Oasis something or other. I have alse read that the KOA at Circus Circus is not all that great. Mainly a big parking lot surrounded by buildings and because it's KOA it's kinda spendy.

I don't know what to tell you on the RV parks but you can park in the designated area for free, but with out hookups in most Casinos.

Park as in set the stabilizers down and hang out all night?



I may prefer a park so the kids can go swimming in the pool.



Also, if I stay away from the strip and drive into town is the free parking at the casinos tall enough to park my truck in? A lot of parking garages around here I can't fit in.

We have stayed at the Oasis a couple of times. It is real easy to the strip and is a nice facility, although a little pricey but for a couple of nights the convenience is worth it. As for parking some of the parking is on open lots and a lot of the parkades have places for our trucks. I also have parked on the side streets and have had no problems. I recommend reserving a site as they can be busy at times.

Awesome, Convenience is usually worth a few bucks.

There is Arizona Charlies Boulder RV Park on Boulder Highway & also Sams Town Hotel Casino & RV Park also on Boulder. I have never stayed in either one but have driven through them & they both look nice. We always stay at Thousnad Trails which is just up the street from them.

I would suggest if you belong to AAA, see what they have on recommendations for the area.

Maybe a book that covers it.

I don't recommend this at all because you wouldn't be able to use your slide out or cook. Your suppose to sit there with no lights on and pretend that your not in the RV. These casinos have security driving around checking on this sort of thing.



I like the Circus Circus because of it's close proximity to other attractions along the Strip.

Yes, most casinos allow that and they even let the Semi,s park as well but they are in the designated areas. The mention of Boulder casinos are about 30 min from vegas, the traffic is horrible now in vegas. If I was going to do what you have in mind, is I would call the individual casinos and ask about RV parking and in your case, pool privileges, before I would pay. You might be able to get a casino on the strip and walk or take the mono rail system (I think thats what they call it) to many others within minutes. The reason they have that type of parking is Lake Mead, were many boats and RV's on their return trips like to stop and gamble, I know because I was one of them 20 years ago, but now my daughter lives there and there is no need for it now.



P. S. I never drive my trucks in the parking structures unless its necessary and I don't know of any parking you have to pay for in Vegas unless you use the valet and thats in the form of a tip.

Being a little ways away isn't a big deal. We are going to be there with our kids so there will be no gambling/drinking, etc.



I just want to wonder around for a bit and maybe eat at the Bellagio Buffet.

I've stayed out on Bolder Highway at several of the "off the strip" casino's RV parks... all of them were nice, but close together... . I travel there 3-4 times a year on business and just take the 5er...

I usually take my truck (3500 dually) down town and all the casino's have space for oversize vehicles... usually better parking than for cars...

But for me, the locations on Bolder Hwy are easier to get to... take Lamb Blvd coming in from the north... off I-15 than the mess down town... .

Hope this helps... BTW my time in the RV parks on Bolder Hwy were at $15. 00 a night as I remember..... I have now bought a used Thousands Trails membership..... and they have a park on the Bolder Hwy as well...

We stayed at the KOA there last June and as you say. . it was ok but not all that great. We used it for an over night on the way to and from Yellowstone. It's all black asphalt and there was a heat wave end of June. 116 when we pulled in and there was no way to cool the rig down mid day. They were very nice there, they had a shuttle take us to the casino. It was not all that clean and the surrounding area was a little junky but it worked. Would I go there again? Maybe, but I would look at others. KOA there was about $10-$20 higher per night compared to other KOAs. We did stay at AZ charlies once for a truck event and I remember it being nicer, maybe because it was further away from the strip.

Main Street Station is downtown by the Freemont Street Experience. They have an RV park. We are getting reservations there for the first week in October.

We've stayed at Oasis... . highly recommend it. We drove through Circus Circus rv park to check it out. I can't recommend it. No one challenged our presence.



The ammenities are much better at Oasis and has a great pool.
