Towing 5W Level or High in front

My Good Sam Emergency Road Service has run out. I think it cost around $90. 00. Never really used it. I am wondering whose service you guys use ( Camping world, Good Sam, AAA, ... ). What's been your experiences, pro and con. Cost and services provided.
One of the main things I am interested in is not being towed to the nearest "Billy Bob's Quick Fix Autoservice" shop, buthaving the option of going to a well-known, or reputable shop.
Any other good points or pitfalls to look out for would be appreciated.
Thanks, guys.

I have Good Sam ERS and have had it for many years. I have used it for flat/blown out tires, lockouts, and engine trouble. They have always come thru in a timely manner and no hassles.

Last May coming back from May Madness, I had a fuel line blow off the aux. fuel tank and it pumped all the fuel out in a matter of minutes. Before I realized what happened, the engine ran out of fuel about 10 miles west of Amarillo, TX on I-40 with the 5er in tow. I called Good Sam and asked them take me to Cummins Southern Plains in Amarillo which was about 6-8 miles past the Dodge dealership. I told them what my problem was and that I needed to go to Cummins and not Dodge and that I had already called ahead and the Cummins techs were waiting for me in the shop. No problem. I also told them not to send a little 1 ton truck wrecker but a big one to take the trailer and truck. Again, no problem, they sent a big International wrecker that towed both the truck and trailer to Cummins.

As a side note, the Cummins guys had my truck running again before the wrecker pulled off their lot. I didn't have to pay the wrecker charge and Cummins fixed my truck at no charge. I only lost a couple of hours and about 30 gallons of fuel.

So yes, I like my Good Sam Emergency Road Service. I have just renewed for 3 more years.

Being an RV Dealer, I always recommend Good Sams to my customers and I have always heard only good things about their road service. Insurance is never worth a flip until you NEED it. Happy Camping!

Stick with Good Sam -AAA and the rest of them don't want to know what an RV or a truck is. If you have to be towed by a big rig, the $90. is real cheap. Probably why they call it insurance!

Heard a guy talking about AAA one day recently. He was waiting for a garage to come and tow his dually. Said that AAA would no longer service them even empty.

Since I have AAA more for my wife, I figure on checking into in March when my renewal comes due.

IMHO, I've had Good Sam ERS for over 7 years. Have used them several times for both cars and trucks. Never a problem, always on time and with the right tow vehicle. The best, and I would not change. Can't beat it.

Used GS ERS in Dec when I ran out of fuel (guage read over 1/2 tank). Their nearest service was 90 miles away. I told them I would like to use a service 20 miles away. They said "no problem, just call for a reimbursement form". Took a couple of weeks, but they came thru.

I am not going to push for AAA, BUTT, I have had it for many years and no problems when towing (have the Plus). Will stick with it for now but agn So Cal AAA "bought" our area AAA a couple years ago and things are a changing. From what I hear, GS ERS would be the better choice if and when I change.
