Dometic Refrigerator Recall -Fires

Hauling a four wheeler behind a fifth wheel

I have a 1999 sunnybrook that has a radius along the edges. I have noticed some places where the metal radius has came loose under the rubber. It has staples holding the metal I would like to replace with screws. Any options other than removing the side trim and rolling the rubber back.

I though about screwing through the rubber and then covering with dicor self leveling caulk or using erternal bond tape over the screw. I have some small screws with a 3/8 round head but are very thin they would hold the staple down. The roof is in good shape and I don't want to create any leaks. anyone run into this before?

The best fix is to remove the trim, fix the problem and pull the rubber snug. Then replace the trim. Anything less is a patch that may not give satisfactory results. I've done several "patches" and later regretted not doing it right the first time. You might get by with it but...
