?'s On Air Box Mod

Already did it but heres a couple of questions. Truck has the S&B intake, took the dust collection connector and installed on bottom of box and ran the 4" tube straight down under truck next to fender liner, looks great and air now has a direct flow right to the filter. It did cut down a little of the whistle which I'm not happy with, I loved the whistle. I can only assume is this because I'm now getting a larger amount of air directly into air box as before it still had to come from the smaller hole in the side of fender? Also does anyone have actuall EGT's readings after doing this ? (gauges not on truck yet)
