Need tires on the 5er

need to know about insurance???

So, about the time I make my mind up to hunt down a used Bigfoot 25C9. 6, a friend tells me he can get me a screamin' deal on a used S&S camper. I know nothing about these campers and am looking for some input. I plan to use the rig all year (It needs to do well in the cold during hunting season). If you have personal experience with these units or have researched them at all, please let me know what you think. Thanks!:D

S&S Camper

My Sister/Brother in law have one and have a few leaks and those flat front windows have a tendency to become concaved - They pop right back out but the idea of them flexing like that is weird.

Can't help you on the S&S as I don't know much about them other than they look kinda weird! I love my 25C9. 6 and between us and our friends, we have four of them (1996 25C9. 6, 1997 25C10. 6, 1995 3000 30. 11, 1995 15C9. 6). I am admittedly biased, but I won't have anything else. :D Happy shopping, and no matter what you end up with, its just great to get out camping!

The S&S are quite popular up here. The have some of the highest R ratings and dual pane windows. This is needed for winter use here! I have never heard much about leaks. I was going to buy one but couldn't swing a deal.

S&S campers

I have an S&S camper that I use for snowmachining and we

have used it in temperatures as low as -30 F. without any

problems. Of course at those temps we need to have a generator

to keep the furnace from draining the battery overnight. We use

the camper dry and carry a 5 gallon water jug with us.

We have a 9. 5 S&S Camper with the unique front that don't become concaved as BV said his sister's does. We bought it new in '97 and it has well over a hundred thousand miles on it. Just spent a week in rainy Pennsylvania with no leaks.

Our's don't have dual pane windows or insulated sky lites, however we did spend 4 days in it with the nights getting down to 20 below zero.

This is our 3rd slide in and I would buy another S&S.

This is a 2500 with the standard suspension except for Rancho 9000 shocks on the back.

This is on the Alaskan Highway in September.

Bought my S&S new in 93. Still like it. Have never had a problem with it. Stored inside a garage for about 3 years in AK when we moved to Md, and we picked it up last year. Put a new battery in it, and used it for the return trip. Furnace, water pump, everything worked fine. No leaks. No concave windows. I would buy another one, if I ever needed to. Proper maintenance can make anything last forever.
