Sad turn of events.

QRTRHRS, your grandson will be in my prayers, going to write something out to him, a little message that let's him know we're even thinking about him way out here in the pacific. Hang in there dude! My grandpa had cancer (lymphoma), doctors gave him 3 years, well my grandpa decided to make it 9 instead! Boy, is Justin lucky to have a Grandpa like you QRTRHRS. I'm gonna give my 5 year old grandson a big hug tonight and tell him I love him. I couldn't imagine having him go through what Justin is enduring. Thoughts and prayers go with you!

Cant add much except we will pray for you and Justin. We lost our 19 year old to lymphoma a few years ago, same story, 6 months of INTENSE chemo, pronounced clean and 3 weeks later it's back. He decided not to fight any more and passed two weeks later at home. It's hard, as long as Justin is breathing there is still reason to hope. If not he'll be with our son James, and none of us are very far behind.

Though the cancer unfortunately took his life, he did have two different types of surgurey that spared him an addiontal 5 years. The first was some type of Gamma surgury, and the other he called blue laser.

I am not sure who to talk to about this kind of stuff, but maybe this could help and buy Justin some time while new medicines and technologies are becoming available?

Thanks Kev and everyone else posting and sending cards. As for the meds, Steve Jusin's father is a pretty "techy" kind of guy. If you check Justin's site, Steve has done a good bit of homework on luekemia and chosen this path. A decision, any decision is better than none at all. I have to support his choice without suggestion. Lord knows, our family has it's share of meddlers. If this does not work, Steve will spend the rest of his life wondering if he had been wrong.



You do hear about survival via alternate choices. I don't doubt for a minute that it can work especially with a good dose of faith. But everytime? Nadda. How many glowing reviews of failure do you hear about? None of course.



On a happier note, if you check the site, "We got a bunch of cards, letters and a teddy bear in the mail yesterday! All of those things put a smile on Justin's face! Thanks to all of you for sending what you did to brighten his days. ", the last entry of the day so far is a bit upbeat. Thanks to all of you.

My father in law had breast cancer 5 years ago. Yes! Men get it too!

Anyway, his Dr didnt have much good news. He didnt want the radiation or chemo (sp?) so he got it removed and did the alternative meds route. Fruit/vegetable drinks etc. etc.

His Dr was amazed! He was "a miracle" he remarked, as he was only given a "few months" to live. Every checkup was excellent.

About a two years back he was helping a neighbor with a downed tree in his back yard, and had some pretty bad back pain. He tried a few days rest and advil... still pretty bad.

Went to his doc, and long story short is he has cancer in his spine. He was lucky enough to beat it the first time, but I dont know about this. I hope it works. He's one of the few people in my wifes family I actually like and respect.

As I read through the site that his Dad set up to keep all informed, it makes me more sure now than ever before of what really is important in life. (Kinda puts things into perspective in a big way). My Wife, Son and Daughter will read this together, and keep Justin and his devoted family in our prayers daily.

Well put Paul. I don't know that I could have done as much as Steve has.



Things happen for a reason. Steve got flushed out of the opto electronic buss when that went bust. He got into different online things to try to eck out a living so he was working at home when this started. Although cramped and limited in modem speed, he does what he can to keep things going (money coming in) while being with Justin 24/7. He wonders how I do what I do and vise versa.



Anyway, thanks for the thoughts.



If anyone has not gotten email replies back, Justin's address has been filtering a lot of junk mail. That may be the problem and Steve is attempting to correct it. Please don't feel slighted but your mail may have never gotten through. Also, check the site for Justin dressed in his TDR shirt with a smile this time. Steve tried it once before on a bad day and Justin did not want the picture sent out but I got a sneak look. His hair will soon be gone again, it's coming out in droves. Thanks all.

With a house full of kids myself, including a 12 year old,I cannot imagine your pain. I'm sitting here thousands of miles away with tears for your boy. We can and will pray for a miracle!!!!
