What is the safe EGT temp for shutdown? I have been shutting it down after the EGT goes under 300F. Am I correct about this temp? I want the turbo to live a long, loud life.

That's pretty good

I think it is anywhere under 400F so you are doing it just fine. I have a long drive way and live on a pretty narrow curvy back road so it's never really an issue of waiting for me. :D

When travelling and/or towing, I always let idle when fueling, I keep a spare key in my pocket, & just lock it up if I'm only going to be there long enough to pay & coffee up. I've had people make remarks or ask why It's left idling. I remind them of the almost red hot turbo & the precision bearings, and the unnecessary wear & tear on a high $ starter.
