Today I received safety recall #970. This applies to 1994 thru 1996 CTD trucks. It is about the throttle cable and linkage:
"The throttle control cable on your Ram Pickup Truck may fray and eventually break. A frayed throttle control cable may not allow the throttle to return to the idle position. In addition, the throttle control linkage joints may corrode and cause the throttle to bind or stick. Either of the above conditions could increase the truck's stopping distance and cause an accident without warning. "
Those of us who bought the beast new will probably get the recall notice. But if Chrysler doesn't know about you (bought used or moved or in jail or hiding from ex or ... ), 970 is the recall number.
