Safety Recall F05

Greetings one and all,



Just received a recall notice for my 2006 RE: antilock brake system control module. Has anyone else out there received this recall ? They say they want to replace the antilock abs control module.

Yes, I received F05 and visited dealer. I absolutey hate giving my keys over to them but was concerned about liability if I ignored the recall. It took about 45 days for the part to arrive. I don't care if they actually installed the ABS module. I have a piece of paper and that's enough for me. By the way, while I was there I let them take care of the fuel tank vent recall (F19 I think).

Everyone is familiar with this site for checking unresolved recalls on their vehicles, right? Just enter the last 8 digits of your VIN and it tells you what, if any, recalls are unresolved.

Now we are familiar, but I still would like to know the VIN range or dates and type truck 2x4 or 4x4) that this recall covered.

Well, mine was a very early 06 (10/14/05). I received my recall notice before I read about it anywhere else. Not much help but I know it applied to the early trucks.
