Coincidence?

One dead, several hurt because of "no speak english"!

I have just learned that my company will soon block all Internet traffic except to places that they deem appropriate. That means no more TDR for me, only The Weather Channel, and MSNBC. I am not so stupid as to surf porn at work, but do enjoy the TDR and assorted non sexual sites.

Now don't think I am Stealing Money by being on the web. I work shift work and am in front of 7 computers for 12 hrs straight. We are not allowed to leave our floor, and sometimes during Day shift, if a supervisor sees you away from your office they may make a comment such as "... ... I think I here your phone ringing... . ". This job is like being a Police Officer, hours of total boredom followed by moments of shear terror.

Could someone please explain to me how Safeweb works and what exactly it does. Thanks in advance

Safeweb

Safeweb routes all internet traffic through their server using an encrypted connection. Basically, if your employer is monitoring your traffic, he'll only see you visiting the Safeweb site so long as you do ALL your surfing through Safeweb. Its slower though, since everything has to be encrypted. No traffic ever comes/goes directly to the sites you're surfing... all of it is routed through Safeweb.

sorry shrimpy

if your I/T staff has a clue at all, safeweb and similiar sites will also be banned... but, you never know. Also, you may want to see what you can do to put in a request to have the TDR added to the "accepted" list... if surfing on the job is allowed, I don't think it would be a big deal. .
