Greetings. It appears my front leaf springs are sagging, as it looks like the truck's rear is jacked up. Are stock leaf springs available?

What's your recommendation?

What has to be altered when installing lifted springs?

Change those springs

Brian,

Get a set of Skyjacker 2" front springs for a diesel application. It will level the front with the back so you won't have that stock tapered look. The ride is excellent and you'll like its stance. A couple of cheaper methods would be to install an add-a-leaf set that will bring it up approximately 1. 5-2" OR you could take it to a spring shop and re-arch your stock set. Add-a-leaf kits have a harsher ride and re-arching will eventually sag in time.

What needs to be changed when lifting the rig 2'' with the Skyjacker springs? Drivelines? Steering shaft? Brake lines? Or is this too small of a difference to require such mods?

Brian,

A 2" lift is not a major difference for those aforementioned components however, I installed an adjustable drag link because my steering wheel was not straight after the spring installation. If I recall correctly, it was around $75 or so.

What do you think about the removal of the block under the rear spring, some replaced it with a 6'' lift rear spring?

While there are several rear spring kits that offer a 'stock-like' ride, I would personally use the money elsewhere such as engine mods. ;) Removing that rear block will eliminate wheel hop with a manual trans but, those of us who are running an auto don't have that problem; installing traction bars would be cheaper than rear springs. Unless you're doing some heavy off-roading and need more travel, I'd say stick with the stock rear setup and just invest in a good set of shocks.
