How do I get the dang interior back up on the roof of the cab where it belongs?!

Find some 3M spray adhesive. Use the extended tube to get some distance when using it. Use a razor blade and slice a small area to put that extended tube in and spray some adhesive into the area. Then slowely and gentley push the headliner back up. Be sure to try and keep wrinckles down to a minium. Try to place the cuts in a area where they won't show to much.



If the material has stretched a lot. You might have to cut some of the excess out to get it looking better.

When a headliner saggs it is not the material coming loose from the board, but the material coming loose from it's own padding. You are much better off if you go to an upholstery shop and have them install a new headliner. It cost me about $145. 00 to get mine replaced and it is as good as new. Glue will normally soak through and just make a mess.

I agree with rlyons about the material seperating from itself. At least that is the case in my truck. I have tried 3 times with 2 different spray adhesives (one of them being 3M) and the best I got was 2 small places sticking.

My next step is to go to an appolstry shop... just gotta find the time to go there and get a price.

If you do go the glue route, check the label closely. 3M makes several types of spray adhesives and some of them say that they will NOT work on the headliners. I know, as I tried it on a car once and it only made things worse.

Apparently my upholstery skills are similar to Jay's. When I took my headliner out to be recovered(3 months ago), I discovered that I like running without. The only reason that I will put the headliner back in is to recover use of my dome light, I miss it trying to read maps.



An associated topic: How expensive are the plastic trim pieces that surround the headliner? I've saved most of my pieces, but the headliner/windshield trim will take some creative repairs.
