Anyone have a writeup on how to get the seat apart to put carpet between the foam and seat cushion? I tried a search, but didn't find anything. I'm not too familar with auto apolstry, so I don't want to mess this up.

What is the best carpet to use, thick shaggy stuff or thin industrial?

I used "super decking" on mine with a piece of added upholstery grade foam. Super deck is a material upholsterers use on furniture between the foam and any support wires. Carpet would work as well. Any carpet as long as it has a woven or jute back on it, the rubber stuff is no good. One to two inches of foam with the backing between the foam and the wire supports. My total cost was under 15 bucks.

Hello

I guess I messed up my first reply - but here goes. I own a 96-2500, and had the same problem. I tried all fixes - but this one has held for years and hard miles. It is called an AIRHAWK. A air seat cushion, that can be adjusted with a pump and valving system.

It is a great and durable product.

Good luck,
