Sales Code and Flash Levels

Trying to understand what I got. DOM is 3-08. How do I find my "sales code" for the engine and transmission? How do I know what level flash I'm at? Thanks ans Happy New Year!

The sales codes can be printed on DealerConnect by your dealer. Next time you're in ask them to print out the option list for your truck. It gives all the equipment and sales codes for standard and your optional equipment. The flash level can only be determined by looking at the ECM with the StarScan. Not sure if a generic tool will show the software version.

They don't make them like they use to. Never had to go back to the dealer once with my 89 diesel and was able to do everything myself. Well I guess I bought a computer and it included a truck. I hate computers.

That's why my '93 is my daily around town driver. The '08 only goes on the highway or pulling a load. BTW, I did a nice long trip on the '07 with 10,000 on the ODO and average was 16. 4 MPG. This was all freeway driving, mostly flat, 70-75 MPH, and not loaded or pulling. Hoping to see that improve by at least 1 MPG as the engine loosens up.
