Hoping to get that written up soon. I have a lot of pictures, just need to create the story to go with.

I have run it several hundred miles and no obvious signs of separation so far. I know that it looks 100% better.

The Honey Do list is shrinking, firewood is in the basement, vehicles are almost all set for winter. I should have some free time coming up....

Mike.

Good to know it worked out for you

When you get the storm that just went thru here ( I am sure you will) everyone can hunker down. It lasted 3 days here. No ice or snow :-laf
Do they sell black golf balls back there ?.
Dave

Black???...lol Not a bad Idea... We had night golf at our club for the first time this year. It was guite the hit. Maybe there are some of those lighted balls left over we could use.

I believe that is the storm we are expecting. I wouldn't mind if we got some snow this week. It wouldn't seem like Thanksgiving without it.

Head north until you run into the lake. We're getting a nice little blast right now. Just got back from Erie running I90 which runs parallel to Lake Erie and visibility is about 100 feet off the nose of the hood. I saw 3 vehicles in the ditch in a span of 25 miles. It's almost comical watching everyone learn how to drive on a little snow and ice every year. :-laf

I was just saying that last night on our way home. It's always that one person who can't figure out why everyone else is going slow except them....that is until they are in the ditch.

A little snow squall or two here so far, right now Black Ice is the enemy...

A college girl left the big road (I-95) north of here due to Black Ice, no injury. State Trooper arrives and walks down into the median to check on her. A pick-up comes along and leaves the road, hits the college girl's car. Knocks the State Trooper off her feet and cues balls the college girls car. Her foot gets tangled in the steering wheel and is drug on her back along with her car until it stops.
Both went to the hospital, trooper had minor injuries and the college girl spent a few days in there with a concussion and several other issues.

Let's be careful out there.....

Mike.

I'm rebuilding my truck right now. I went to Eastwood and bought a bunch of their rust solutions.
Internal frame coating inside the frame, the door bottoms, cab corners, inside the rockers, inside the front fenders, interior floors along the door sills and driver/ pass floors. All till it was running out the drains
HD Antirust inside the doors.
Chassis black extreme primer, 2 coats, and Chassis black paint extreme, 2 coats, on the frame after sand blasting it.
Black rust encapsulator on the axles and front suspension along with 2 coats of chassis black paint.
Spectrum rubberized sound deadener from Second Skin Audio on the exterior cab floor to about 3-4 mils thick and inside the front doors and on the front seat floors and trans hump.
Hopefully that will buy me some time. I am replacing the cab with a donor from a 01 1500 gasser truck I bought in Alabama. Clean as a whistle, 1 women owner, 171k.

That is nothing, Here in Johnson County, IN (Greenwood) we have no snow & only flurries predicted for the next two days & they loaded the roads with salt brine this morning. The state should have to pay for our vehicles.

Typed "Krown" into the search forum, and found a post from member "Etobicoke" from 11-30-2003. According to his post, "Krown" is distributed in the US under the "Carwell Corrosion Control" brand. I can't confirm if it's identical or not, I just don't know enough about it. Their website only lists 2 retail outlets, one in Buffalo and the other in Syracuse N.Y.

This might be an alternative for people who can't find a Krown or Rust Check retailer in their area. and don't want to cross the border into Canada. Still can't figure out why "Krown" or "Rust Check" hasn't caught on in the traditional rust belt.

Any way, hopefully "Etobicoke's" information can be usefully to someone.

The closest Krown dealer is ~100 miles from me. I guess I'll be sticking with Ziebart as long as they stay in business locally. I haven't had any rust issues since I started using their product.

there are a half dozen Krown installers within about 90 miles of me. As stated above just go to their main page and there is a link to "find a dealer near me" where you will have to punch in your zip code and they will list the closest dealers near you.
JGilliot if I owned a new vehicle I would have looked into the Ziebart a little more seriously but all my vehicles are used and I was afraid of sealing everything up. Obviously it has worked well for you so no real reason to change up what your doing.

I would love to send the state of Maine a bill for the damage they have caused.

I couldnt agree more. It's bad enough we have to spend big money to protect our investment every year but then they dip into your pockets even further by mandating e checks. I understand keeping your car mechanically sound and tuned up but all the counties around me they mandate you keep your body spotless too. First sign of a rust bubble and you fail inspection. Talk about pouring salt in an open wound. Fortunately we are rural enough to not have any kind of inspections but I'm sure the day will come.

The weather Channel in their infinite wisdom has had a winter weather advisory out since Friday. As I look out the window I can still see grass in some spots  We are still under the advisory through Wednesday but lets just say I'm not holding my breath :-laf

I agree. Usually when they give use these winter storm warnings, we get nothing.

I'm certainly not complaining its nice to look at but when you gotta go to work in it it becomes a PITA. But it really tees the kids off when they start threatening 12+ inches and we get a trace. Theyre ready to break the tubes out and get drug around behind the 4wheeler.

My daughter has been out on the sled once this year already. She has it in her head now that I am going to let her go down one of our access roads if we get enough snow. 900'+ with a grade between 15%-18% the entire way down..........um....I think not. Dang kid has more guts than brains at times.

Sounds about like my 10 year old. I bought him his first Honda for his 4th birthday and upgraded him to a 90 for his 6th. He has no fear of that machine and I'm constantly trying to keep him grounded. Having never been hurt he has no fear of the consequences. He's layed it down a few times but hes like a rubber ball he just bounces right back up and gets back on it. My old man thinks its quite amusing and is very quick to remind me where he got his mentality from.
