I'm up for renewal on Verizon and they finally got the S4. I currently have a Droid X that has been a solid phone but the battery is toast (a new one is $40+) and it is getting glitchy. Does anyone have experience with the S4 either on Verizon or other carriers? Is it all it's supposed to be? One of my concerns is that the first offerings are only a 16gb internal memory and I've read that's where all apps go. I think on my Droid I can store either on the microSD or internal. I don't know if 16gb will be enough over time to keep what's coming out on the App page.

I also don't want to lose all my Angry Bird progress!

Was just looking at that phone today as I'm available for an upgrade as well. On principal I don't want to as I have unlimited as well.

Be aware if you have unlimited data usage..... aka you were grandfathered in like i was several yrs ago... . you loose that with the new renewal... . just a little FYI..... that is supposed to be a great phone, but im holding out for a little longer for my data usage... ... . Verizon is just greedy.....

That and they'll charge you a $30 upgrade fee regardless of when you do it.

I looked at the S4 when it was time to renew my contract with ATT. After reading a lot of reviews I ended up getting the HTC One. The latter has 32 GB storage and I like the blink page which continually updates news feeds using small screen shots. Kinda cool if you are a news junkie.
The wireless LTE in the newer phones is Great! Makes it as fast as wireless.
A big jump in performance over my old Motorola Atrix.

The HTC One isn't available on Verizon... yet, at least.

you have to pay full price for a phone... ... 6-700 $ aint going to happen with me... .

That's a racket if I've ever seen one.

The 5s will probably have some subtle changes to it but don't expect anything great the half year releases are minor. Not sure if Apple is going to catch Samsung . Apple got us to a good place but it's hard to stay on top forever. Wait till next year on the Samsung we are going to see something that will blow us all away.

Where have you read about this??? I waited for 9 months for the Bionic to hit the shelves. Upgraded and bought it only to have 3 even better phones come out a month later.

Ok boys read up on how to keep that unlimited plan:...

I wonder how accurate that is...

Past history with Apple half year phones have always been subtle changes. I got the Bionic when it first came out bunch of junk they upgraded me to the phone that came out a month later for free the Razr not much better wouldn't own another Motorola product too bad Google bought them .

All of my Droids have been Motorolas and they have all held up to my abuse. I'm pretty hard on phones they go everywhere I go whether its 4 wheelin, working on cars, or hanging upside down welding on a chunk of pipe at work. I've dropped them countless times and my current 4 I actually dropped in a mud hole 2 weeks after I got it. It took me about a minute to fish around for it and find it because the water was so murky I couldnt see exactly where it fell. I immediately pulled it apart and dried it off and stuck it in my bag until we got back to the shop and then I put it in the rod oven. (we have an old fridge with a heat lamp in it for all our non code welding rod) Its about 100 degrees in there and I left it sit for the rest of the day. Put it back together and it still works to this day, no glitches or anything

Buying a new phone/changing plans is worst than buying a car.

I spent 2. 5 hours in that freakin store today. You show up and they say, "Oh, it'll only take 45 minutes or so... " I guess the "or so" part can mean endless.

Got the Galaxy S4 and so far I really like it. Just transferring my pictures over it is amazing the clarity of the new screen. Now I need to play with it more to figure it out.

Ended up switching plans. I researched and asked more questions about doing what was stated above, but it would only add $30+ to my bill. I save $30+ from what I'm paying now by switching.

I use Wi-Fi mostly so the data usage isn't a real issue for me.

It's all about principal really. Verizons, and for that matter a lot of companies/industries, customer service has gone into the crapper.

I hate Apple exclusivity. You have no choice if you go Apple. There is only the iphone and iphone accessories.

Facebook recently instructed their employees to go with Androids because it has more capability and they are using those capabilities in Facebook.

BTW wife just got the Galaxy S4. I have the Galaxy Note II. They are top of the line and fast. I'm on Sprint. They advertise now non-throttled fully unlimited which is what we have.

They have shareholders they have to respond to. The CEO of AT&T said he crazy to give an unlimited plan for data and living to regret it now . Sprint and T Mobile have unlimited which amazes me but they are #3 and 4 in the food chain

Sorry, but that doesn't give them the all clear for crappy customer relations.

And it's poor planning and future outlook to having "regret about giving unlimited plans. "

What did they think, people would just live in the stone ages technologywise?
