San Diego to St. George-where to get diesel?

Finally, the reason I bought the RAM.

Unlimited Hot Water and Heat in your RV

I will be pulling our 5th-wheel from San Diego to St. George, Utah next week. Will need to get diesel fuel somewhere enroute. Where do you suggest that is easy off-easy on with trailer and prices are not too out-of-line? Barstow? Baker? Primm? Jean? Which place and which exit? I have sort of ruled out fueling up in Vegas due to traffic congestion.

I should know the answer but I'm just drawing a blank.

Thanks,

Glenn

Barstow flying j, has an rv island price is $2. 17

St George Ut. you can fill up on the truck island far right lane price is $1. 99

there is a stop in primm too, I like to stop there just becuase it is before vegas, and after CA price last time was not much better than CA though last time (september 15th or so), if you are going north on the 15 take the primm exit and turn left off the exit. When you follow the entrance to that hotel/casino you stay to the left (follow the signs for trucks/ diesel) however you will have to fill at the gas side, they get cranky if you pull up to the truck side with anything shy of 100 gallon capacity... they say the nozzles are too big and put out too much fuel... . I personally think it just means I wont be there as long ;)

anyhow, diesel is at the far west (right as you are rolling towards it) side island on the autos side. I have gone there a few times with a trailer and never had any concern... . if you are looking for a mini-mart or something though they dont have it, on the truck side they sell red bull and have restrooms, but thats about it.

just a thought... dont go through vegas at 5PM on a weekday... . if you head home (south) on sunday evening dont expect to get there anytime soon, traffic was terrible. north bound through vegas at 5 took an extra hour or so... . southbound near barstow is a real mess on sundays especially, there is contruction that slows it to a stop on the heavy days

There is also a new Sinclair truckstop about 10 miles north of Vegas. Valley of Fire / Lake Mead exit, it's where you can get cheap cigarettes and fireworks on the indian reservation, easy on and off. I stop and fill up there when I go to Cedar City and back. Last time I filled up there the price was $1. 99, have a safe trip..... Phil

I'll second this recomendation, no traffic and about the same price as the cheaper places in Vegas :)

Fuel - San Diego & Points North on the I-15

We also live in San diego County and visit SLC about once a year (don't do it in July -- We hit 123F in St. Geo. a couple of years back). I fill up here, of course, top off in Barstow, Primm and we're good to St. Geo. If you're still moving north, top off about Navoo, then hit the Costco in Provo. Yup, they do diesel.

If you're going east from Barstow on the I-40, you should be good to Topock, AZ. (Pilot) That's the turn off for Havasu. If you can push it to the AZ-NM border top off there - but be sure to pay the NM price not the AZ
