Satellite radio antenna

I recently traded in my 2011 2500 CTD for a 2015 1500 ED. I love my truck, except for one issue I'm having. My satellite radio reception is pretty bad. I am constantly losing the signal momentarily driving locally. I live in a hilly area and expected to lose the signal in a couple of spots but not like I am. My 2500 didn't lose the signal nearly as often. Do they use different antennas for different models? Anyone else experience this problem? Thanks

There are radio models that use Sirius network and others use the XM network. I forget which is which, but one of the networks has their satellite closer to the equator, so the signal is not as good as the satellite that is more over north america. I suspect your 2500 radio was using the other network.

Thanks for the reply. I have a Sirius radio subscription, which I had on my 2011. Would that still use the XM network?

Yes, SiriusXM uses both networks depending on the radio manufacturer. Chrysler products are currently using several different radios.
