Does anyone have pics of the Satin Silver interior inserts available in the Laramie package? My truck will have them, but I haven't seen it in a truck yet, and I've been to 4 different dealers. Will this be taking the place of the wood looking plastic trim that was available in my '98? Any replies would be appreciated.

Appearently yes, I wanted the brushed Alum. interior trim with my Laramie, and the dealer told me that was the way all the Laramies were coming to him - so I din't need to specify anything on my order. I'm happy as the plastic wood in my 97 wasn't so great. Looks good too - at least with the slate interior - I have seen someone's gallery here on TDR that has a picture of their dash with the brushed aluminum and slate interior.

I wish it was "brushed aluminum" which would look better in my opinion than the "satin sliver" that came standard with my Laramie. Don't get me wrong... . I like it... . and I get alot of compliments about it... . I just like the true brushed look better. Here's a pic I have in my gallery. Hope it helps.....

Hey what's that stuff in the third hole down. Mine has a cubby shelf in there. I don't have a Laramie though. Your heater controls are also different. I have 3 knobs.

Third slot, that's the electric 4x4 buttons. Heater switches: That's the dual climate control.

WOW. Dem der Laramie pickem up trucks shur is fancy!

To the other guy. That's an Alpine deck. ;)

Yup... . Alpine deck, Dual climate Air control, electric transfer switch, and the last buttos in the 3rd cubby are for the heated seats. If you have other questions or need more pics, just let me know.

I don't mind the look of the 'brushed aluminum' trim, but I'm glad my Laramie has the (rare) dark plood trim. I think it looks classier, but that's just MHO.

My 2001 had the dark wood trim and it was definitely classy looking. I can't say I like one over the other better, but the silver trim matches my truck very nicely since the exterior is black and silver. Plus I have the brushed aluminum gas lid and my business logos are also done in brushed aluminum vinyl on the rear windows.

I'm awaiting delivery of my new 2500 Cummins 4X4 Quad Cab LWB Laramie any day now. I was disappointed that the wood-grain trim of '03 was jettisoned in favor of the silver plastic stuff. While it was faux wood, it still looks better. My remedy to this is to go with Mopar's REAL Wlanut Burl Wood dash and door panel applique kits. Both kits will cost you around $400 MSRP, but they look gorgeous, especially with the leather interior. Just my two cents.

P. S. Does the new HD Laramie come with the weirdo body-color outer/chrome cross-hair inner type grille, or is it all chrome like the SLT? The DC/Dodge sales brochure is unclear... it has billet chrome grille insets listed for the 1/2 ton, but I am unsure about the 3/4 & 1-tonners.

The Laramie has chrome cross-hair inner grill, with body color around that. Kind of like a combination between the SLT and Sport.

The 2004 Laramies do NOT have the body colored grill frame -- it is all chrome, plus has standard "billet type" grille inserts. Here's a pic of mine... .

Thanks Stephen,

I'm glad they did away with the old missmatched grille... it saves me from having to change it. . the billet inserts are a bonus (I would have added those as well. Too bad about the wood grain, though I imagine it's cheaper to add the wood grain than to change the whole grille and add the billet trim... . all in all, an acceptable trade.

The Plood dash trim was on the 03 Laramie, the 04's have the satin silver. Grille on the 03 Laramie had body-color outer shell, chrome cross-hairs and black honeycomb inserts.

It took a while to get used to the grille treatment, but I like it.

The only constant is change!
