This may be old news, but I have not seen one in person yet, until today. I must admit I didn't care for the pics on the web, but this looks to be a real sharp design in person IMO. Granted, this particular one was loaded up but I think it kind of dates the 03-05's pretty bad. It's a very clean look. I *think* the one I saw was a CTD, but it was about 75 yards away and the badging is different but the exhaust looked like 4" to me. .

There are two on the lot here by me, both CTD. The verdict is still out on the new grill and lights but IMHO the dash is f(*&^ng ugly. What where they smoking that day?

Haven't seen one in person yet, but did a search on autotrader and seen quite a few dealers that had them, but they were all DRW I want a 3500 SRW 4X4. Only 2 of the dealers had pics, but seen that 2 dealers by me have gotten some in so will have to head on down and have a look so I can decide if I want to go with the 06 or 05.

We got 2 in today, both 2500 diesels. The cloth seats look horrible, as does the cheap flimsy chromed plastic part of the front bumper.

MAN!!

Whats up with that ??? I have 4 sitting in storage...

Darn it, why are mine not here, dont tell me its the G56 things again :-laf

EDIT: PS - I just looked and wouldn't you know all the 2006's I ordered ARE G56 trucks...

Looked at one on dealers lot a couple days ago. Front end grows on you like to see sport. Noticed that the top of the cummins valve cover is change looks good. The wiring plugs to the injectors have changed from the three plugs to two in more central and vertical position. Companies such as TST will have to change wiring plugs.

The consensus there seems to be that most don't like the headlights or the new Cummins badge location.

Personally, I guess I still prefer my old '03; less radical styling, no cat or other emissions junk, a metal intercooler and 7/70 warranty.

Yikes, I hope it looks better in person!

Cause I'm not digging that headlamp at all!

But I think the dash is a great change...

Interesting last sentance at this link: http://www.americancarfans.com/news.cfm/newsid/2050209.014/page/4/lang/eng/dodge/1.html

"Optional buckets seats include a new center console that extends from the dashboard. "

I have an 06 Sport on order, and the sport package includes low back bucket seats (CAC), I wonder if it will have the console, wonder what the hell it looks like also?

It shouldn't have the would grain either... I hope

Interesting look. I sort of like it, but not quite sure yet. Great leg room in the back, but the seats don't look very comfortable. This would be a great setup for a family with a smaller trailer.

I took a look at one today.

Now I know what our local feed mill does with all the old burlap bags.

Seats have got to be the ugliest in the industry. I am so glad I have an 04 (pre-600)!!!

I like it! DC copied me, that is where I placed (relocated) my Cummins C's when I put on my stainless fender wheel trim.

Man, I don't know yet. I guess I have to wait and see in person. I like the chrome bumper better than the insert in the Chicago pics. I am torn on the lights. They are BIG. My 99 superduty has a nicer interior IMO. I hope the leather seats look better but here in vegas I hate cowhide on my butt.

I saw a 06 hemi SLT at the dealer yesterday. I don't like the dakota front end, the new dash is ok, slightly different door panels. It had light gray interior color which I would like, but I don't like the look of the seats. The door weather strip looked different than my late 05 (which has the "cutaway" version) along with a "gutter at the edge of the windshield. Weatherstrip between the front and rear doors on the quadcab.

The fold flat floor is all plastic, with a "living hinge". I'm not anti-plastic, but this design loks cheesy.

To me it doesn't look too different on the outside. Can't comment on the interior. But I must say, we have gone a bit in the cat eye direction with the lights, eh? I simply cannot stand that on the Chevies. I hope that is as far as they go on the Dodge. Other than that, I like it just fine. Unmistakeable Dodge look.

And you can't compare it to the Dakota. They really ruined the Dakota but the Ram still looks good. This silver dually in the pic just above, I'd have that truck any day despite the lights.

I just saw about six or seven '06 Cummins 4x4's at a Dodge dealer in San Jose last night.

In person, one word sums it up: TOUGH! It makes my '03 look whimpy in comparison.

The interior dash is nice, but the new cloth is really, really, really cheap looking. Leather is a must.

Under the hood, changes are afoot. There's a new injector harness setup, wth two huge plugs, and the intake plenum (the one that gets replaced by the ATS or Banks Hi Ram) is closer to the front of the engine. It sits right behind the injector for the forward cylinder. The fuel rail looks a little different, as well.

Overall I like the truck. Good thing I didn't have my '03 with me last night. Plus those Power Wagons, it really sucks you can't get a Diesel!

To me, the interior (dash and door panels) rocks, thank goodness for some simulated wood, instead of just all plastic!! Plus its got the newest generation of radio, like in the Charger. My aunt has a new Charger with the 6 disc and that thing flat out thumps and I think it looks great. The seats are another issue in the '06 Ram, leather does look like the way to go.

This is nothing like the Dakota, they absolutely killed the Dakota and D'ingo, all that is different on the Ram is the grill and headlights. They're growing on me, have to wait and see in person. The grill is tough and should look even better with billet inserts.

Overall, I'm optimistic, things will be allright.
