Sawzall

Have a 4" Jardine exhaust need to install. Searching the TDR has shown that members highly recommend a Sawzall for removing the stock system. I assume a Sawzall is some kind of hack saw. Where can I buy this item? I have checked NAPA, Schucks, Lowes, and Home DePot.

All the power tool mfgrs have them. The better ones have about twice the stroke(about 1 1/8 stroke)than the cheaper ones. Price - $125 and up. They are VERY handy for any doityourselfer! I've even cut out big tree stumps with mine!

4STR, If you can' afford a sawz-all the the manual version of a hack-saw will do, also a lil 4" grinder will do to just don't let er get out of control

Cut infront of the resignator and behind the mufler and it will be a cake walk good luck and enjoy ... ... Kevin

I bought a factory reconditioned Porter Cable Variable-Speed Tiger Saw from Harbor Freight Tools, $79. Like it better than my old Milwalkee. If you don't plan on using it much try this one on sale.

Having used nearly every make and model of them on the market I would say buy the Porter Cable Tigersaw or the Makita recip saw. The Porter is big and heavy, but it has gobs of power and will take a serious beating without a complaint. The Makita is the smallest and lightest of all the "major" brands. It does not have the power of a Porter, but it is the handiest of all. The Makita lasts forever. I have a Milwaukee Sawzall and a Super Sawzall, they are both garbage. The regular has no power, and the super overheats if you try to use it for any period of time. Get one, it is one of the best tools a guy can have. You can do nearly anything you can imagine with one. Ever used a Filezall?

Some years ago, a tool dealer in Medford, Oregon had a big promo going on and had reps from several tool manufacturers there. One of the guys brought an old full size van and using his reciprocating saw cut that thing completely in to two pieces----one side to the other right behind the drivers seat!! Quite a demo.



I would not be without one!

I just got the new 18 volt CORDLESS milwaukee contractor KIT, includes flashlight, 1/2" drill, 2 batterys and charger and a sawzall they call the "hatchet", it has a bendable handle and I just used it on passenger car exhaust and this is one neat tool!

Home depot had the kit on sale and I think the saw and flashlight alone is worth the price of the whole kit!

I have abused my Makita Sawzall for 10 years and it is still ticking. Has my vote. Picked mine up for a good price at... Costco.

My vote is for the Porter Cable TigerSaw with the quick change blade clamp. This thing is awesome: lot's of power, two stroke settings (straight and orbital) and very well built.

Graingers sells . 035" thick(4"dia)Norton abrasive disks. I put them on my Makita 4" grinder. That's a cuttoff tool that ROCKS!!

Both are good, but the Milwaukee Super Sawzall has far less vibration than the PC. In terms of raw cutting power, the PC has my vote.
