Can someone tell me where the user control panel is?

Anyone live near Rochester or Greece, NY ??

and the active shooter is using a AR?

do you charge in like General Custer or do you find a safe place and wait for backup?

He 'opted for self-preservation': Parkland deputy's lawyers say he wasn't legally required to stop massacre
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -
Many have called him a coward, but former sheriff's deputy Scot Peterson had no legal duty to stop the slaughter at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, his attorneys say.

Peterson took shelter rather than confront the killer, but he did not act with malice or bad faith, according to his attorneys, Michael Piper and Christopher Stearns of Fort Lauderdale. Therefore he can't be held legally responsible for the deaths, they say in court documents.

Allegations against Peterson suggest only that he "opted for self-preservation over heroics," the attorneys wrote....... https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/h...-legally-required-to-stop-massacre/ar-AAyI6oi

I hadnt heard they were going after him for anything other than his character. BTW, dont the cops down there carry rifles ? I believe they do here in seattle. Inside a building against an untrained kid, the trained cop with the pistol should have had the advantage.

I have many friends who are current and retired LEOs, and have worked with many more(some who were killed in performance of their duty)as a volunteer posseman, and I understand talk is cheap, but I FIRMLY believe that they would have gone in.

Another perfect example of what is being taught at the academy today. Go home at the end of your shift, whatever it takes.

I hope he at least has the balls to knock on every door of the home of every child who was killed or injured and explain his actions. Highly doubtful. Shameful really, but this is new age America so no surprise.

I am a former LEO. I am going in. Training would take over and up against an untrained kid or adult for that matter, I like my odds. Not being cocky here folks and sorry if I come across that way. I chose LE because I believe in To Serve and Protect. I believe in the concept of a trained armed individual patrolling the hallways of our schools. Doesn't have to be a uniformed position or any member of a school's staff. Former LEO's who wish to continue to serve and protect would be perfect for this job. Just my two cents guys.

No sir carry on carry on!

We need more in the LEO community to stand up against the new status quo with citizenry feeling at odds with those whom they count on. Thanks!

Thanks, Dave Hess. You said it just right. As a retired LEO, we are all sworn and paid to go in "harm's way". If you're not committed or not willing to do this, you chose the wrong profession and need to find another job. My Active Shooter Training was very specific; you immediately go to the sound of gunfire and eliminate the threat. No waiting around for back-up or a proper analysis of the situation, you move it and you eliminate it. Today, I still carry and qualify as a retired officer with a LEOSA certification.

Killgore, You and I are Brothers in Arms. You said what I failed to. I know this will be offensive to many but that deputy is a disgrace to all of us who wear or have worn a badge. I work in an office with 9 other ladies. We deal with an unhappy customer base. I have sat in a staff meeting where it was discussed what to do if something goes south. Normally, I keep me mouth shut in these meetings but this day I made it clear and in no uncertain terms that if a situation went bad they should listen to me. I told them I will confront and do my damndest to neutralize the threat and if that meant "taking one for the team" or heaven forbid going home in a bag, so be it. The job isn't worth it but those 9 ladies are. I don't get to carry at work by the way but Killgore I'd bet my bottom dollar that pretty much anywhere you find yourself at, you are constantly thinking of plans for that "what if" scenario. It's what we do even if it is on the fly running into that building with an active shooter. Again, I apologize as I have gone off topic..... again. Thanks for your patience guys.
