Wondering if a Con O would hold Comp and Mach2s? I guess if I am going to put a new clutch in I want to get the right one the first time but also like the idea on smoother engagement of organic disk if it will hold. Stock clutch has held comp 5x5 for a few months. I try and not abuse by always starting in 1st and no hard off the line starts. I guess I'll find out what where the stock breaks loose with the Mach2s ;)

Hey Luke, I hope someone answers you because I am wondering the same thing. I have the comp that has been holding but getting ready to add Stage II's and am wondering what clutch I should go with. I need to watch the pennies at least a little so I've been shopping around. Good luck

I installed the conOFE a few months ago, and it is smooth for the most part. I would recommend it, awesome clutch. . Only slightly more grabby than stock. If you have to creep, raise the RPM, and it will smooth right out. Backing up is a bit more challenging with the 5er in tow, but a little RPM does the trick. Call SB, they will steer you right.

Check my sig... of course the comp has much more potential, but my Con OFE holds the EZ and DDII's like a champ... and I don't baby it:D

Ok well just got the new LP in and took it out and I can attest to the fact that the stock clutch won't hold mach2s and comp even on 2x5 let alone 5x5. I'm sure this is a revelation to all lol. For some reason my wallet is starting to feel pretty light :)

I would go with the Con OFE, I installed it and am very pleased. It does chatter a little bit on second gear take off's but it is definatly livable. I would'nt short change yourself on the clutch as it is not a whole lot of fun to change. As for backing up my 5er uphill, I usually use 4lo (for you 4x4 guys).

I put a Con FE in mine and I love it. If you are wanting to put the right clutch in the first time, you need to think about future mods. Is this all of the power you want, or are there more goodies in the future.

I would suggest (cant believe that it hasnt been suggested yet). But I would suggest calling Peter at South Bend Clutch. I called last week to order a clutch for my cousin, he has an '01 with the Edge Comp box on it, fried the stock clutch. Anyways, here is the information that his assistant gave to me (Peter was on Vacation last week):

'01 5-speed MU 13-1. 25 Con OFE

450 Horse

1000 Torque

$1123

'01 5-speed MU 13-1. 25 Con FE

550 Horse

1100 Torque

$1296

-Both Come with Flywheel, with a $300 core

The phone number is 1-800-988-4345

My cousin went with the Bigger of the two the ConFE.

I hope this offends no one, I am in no way associated with South Bend Clutch, as a matter of fact, I am still running my Stock Clutch, with 140K on it!!! Its still making me money, I will use it up untill the truck wont move!!!

Hope this helps guys!!

I have an ofe and I love it. Some say theirs is a bit grabby but I really can't tell much difference in it compared to the stock clutch other than this one will hold my dd2's and comp. My brother has the fe and can definatly tell the difference. It is pretty grabby. I've drove it once and I don't care for it and probably would go with a duel disk before I went to a con fe. After haveing the ofe I wouldn't even consider a different clutch but after driving my brothers truck I'd say a fe is a tad much for someone who pull with their truck much.

I put in a con fe and love it on 5x5 with the drag comp I have no issues with it holding. Even backing my trailer I have not had a problem at all.

With the stock clutch there was no way to hold the comp. I wouldn't use the con o, just my 2 cents. I didn't think it would hold up, but now I am heading for twins and wondering about the clutch I bought... ... ... ... ...
