Steve suggested contacting SBC individually with a note that he wrote. My computer dumped and I didn't get it sent so I don't have what we're supposed to tell them.

So what is the proper verbage for contacting SBC? I called them once and they said they fixed it but it doesn't appear to be.

Try sending them this:

I am having trouble with receiving notification emails from a site I subscribe to. I have contacted the webmaster there and he says that it is happening to all of his users from sbc and only at sbc. The problem seems to be with a prodigy.net relay server. Here is one of the log entries with the error listed (with the email address replaced with ??????). All emails going to sbcglobal.net users are getting this error. They are running FreeBSD Unix running sendmail. Anything you can do to help would be great:

Sep 15 00:03:24 turbodieselregister sendmail[41832]: m8F41AgP041790: to=??????@sbcglobal.net, ctladdr=webmaster@turbodieselregister.com (1007/1007), delay=
00:02:14, xdelay=00:00:01, mailer=esmtp, pri=120673, relay=sbcmx1. prodigy.net. [207. 115. 21. 20], dsn=5. 6. 0, stat=Data format error

Thanks Steve. Before I send that should we see the "??????" somewhere in that error message, after the "to=" maybe? Or are we supposed to put our email addy in there?

Oops, there should be a < and a > around the email addresses after to= and ctladddr= . That was interpreted as html so it wasn't showing on the screen. I've removed the < and > so that you can see the whole message. The ?????@sbcglobal.net is your email address.

I received a note from SBC today that they are removing our IP's from their blocklist in the next 24-48 hours. Let me know if you guys start getting your emails or not.

None here.

On an unrelated note, it seems like SBC is going WAY slower now. At least I hope it's SBC or my new iMac is starting to slow down.

I'm glad I read this post... I too have not been receiving email notifications. I haven't been as active as of late however; it's good to know this is being addressed. I could't understand what was happening with some of the most recent posts that I had subscribed to.

Thank You

William
