I just received an offer to sell my Cummins to someone in Nigeria. This looks like the same scam that tried to buy one of my Corvettes that I had listed on line last year. Seller BEWARE. The last time it proved to be a scam and I still have the bogas Bank Check that they sent as payment. When I called the bank, they stated that they got hit hard with these slime balls from overseas. First, they rip us off on our fuel, now they want to steal our trucks!

Below is a copy of the first letter of what will most likely be many more to come.

They must have got my email from the classified add I have in the TDR.

They're sharp and phishing for personal ID stuff. Their scams are pretty transparent and exchanging a few investigative-curious e-mails allows them a back-door opportunity into your computer, which is what they really wanted in the first place. JimB

I got one of those last year. I figured it was BS so I had fun with them and went back and forth a couple time with email. I asked some pointed questions and all off a sudden they lost interest in dealing with me :D

I get the same deal on horses. I usually have lots of fun with them. Their addresses get filed in my e/mail address file and as I get a new inquirey about a horse or helping them with their missing moneys etc. I forward it the the other ones whom have done the same.

Heck 60 minutes or 20/20 did a segment on a NICE above middle income couple that actually followed the instuctions about the African goverment took my deceased hubbys fortune and I need to try to get it transfered to your accounts, you keep 10% but I need 40k to get it rolling etc. They fell for it hook, line and sinker. Lost like 60 or 70k!

Had those clowns try to "buy" one of my trailers that way! Said a previous deal fell through and if I would send some outrageous amount of $$$$ they would send me the original cashiers check for the difference!! :-laf :-laf I actually find it hard to believe someone could fall for something as lame *** as this. :( Are people really that hard up or just really naive?? Uh oh, I see Steve is back ,everyone behave yourselves now !! :p

I use yahoo e-mail and it's amazing the stuff that ends up

in the "Bulk" (spam) mail folder. I look at subject & sender

but don't bother to open the mail. To their credit, Yahoo

has never missed a beat by putting a valid e-mail in the bulk folder!

Latest is e-mail claiming to be from Yahoo - updating passwords, etc.

I have been hearing about this subject a lot lately on "The Clark Howard Show" (AM radio). He says theses guys send you a check(For more than you wanted for the item), pickup the item you sold them, and a few days later your bank calls to tell you the check is bogus. And you are now out the money + the item you sold!
