So which one give the most bang for the buck? Must read ABS codes and work with an 2005 CTD and 2008 Grand Caravan.

Laptop software: Car Code (Alex Peper) or Apex (Harrison) or AutoEnginuity?

Hand held: Actron CP9850a or AutoXray AX7000? Any others?

Unless I’m reading wrong most of the tools can handle both, such as the Car Code unit:

TRICAN - Includes New Control Area Network (CAN) plus all previous networks to support all 1996-2010+ vehicles $240

Did you ever get the software? How well is it working on an 05?

It's supposed to be good stuff. One question I can't get an answer to- Does it read sensors in real time? That's a big help- especially with Gas engine o2 sensors. I got spoiled by having a DRBIII available...

Yes there are quite a few sensors you can monitor in realtime, you can also do cylinder contribution tests and shut down cylinders individually.
