Were switching at work from Delo 400 to Scaeffers 15-40. Needless to say all I need to buy is a filter but info is scarce. I'm told its good stuff and that it's parifin based with a high detergent content, but then it was said that parifin base is bad resulting in high build up (the same as Pennzoil and Quakerstate which are Pennsilvania crude, that I was always told was superior because of a longer molecular chain. ) So which is it, go to Costco for the Delo or use the Scaeffers?

Never used either personally. But there are several here that have, and seem to be very happy with both. I use Rotella T, myself. IIRC, Cen-pe-co is a parrafin based oil. It is a excelent oil. Archer is another good oil.

I can't tell you about parafin and all that other stuff. But I use Schaffers 15w-40 in 'ol Whitey. I use it because my Dad uses it and my Grandpa always used it in their tractors and and trucks. That is good enough for me. I have never got a bad oil sample back and I run it for close to 10,000 every time.
