Sure doesn't seem like much interest in any of the Scheid threads... Is Scheid's a TDR member or do they just advertise here? I sure the hell ain't missing it!

I think they might advertise in the mag, but not online with banner ads, they do enough business with word-of-mouth, which is the best type of ad there is. They do not post on these forums, or anyother forums that I'm aware of for that matter, they are to busy working.

The event is H-U-G-E because they also run tractors don't they Justin? I will go one day, but can't make it this year, and this time next year I will be getting married!!! :)

I do know that one of my friends called the Knights Inn, on 8/20, and they acted like they had plenty of rooms on that day. Said they didnt know of anything going on in town that weekend. so, you may try to call them for a room.

TxDieselKid, sorry about the planning of your wedding, the first phone call I made after just giving up, and giving her a ring, was to my buddie's dad that owns a DJ service, and the second call to the "Beverage" service. I also informed her that we will register at Scheid, Piers, DPP, etc. etc. None of these "Bed, Bath & Beyond" type stores. LOL

Yes, I have been 3 years to Scheids, and its a great event, I have never been to Muncie, so I cannot gauge the size between the two, but there is a bunch of trucks at Scheids every year!!!

See Y'all there!

I got the very last room @ the Pear Tree Inn day before yesterday. :-laf I cannot believe I actually found a room after procrastinating so long.

Hey Justin which hotel are you staying in, and when are you getting into Terra Haute? I still got your cell from TiM, we gotta get together during Scheid. :-laf

There is a small hotel on the opposite side of the road from the Drury Inn. I think its called the Dollar Inn or something. I have stayed there, it was my first year at Scheid, and they had plenty of rooms. Not too nice of rooms. But, how long to do you spend in the room. Just an idea for you guys who want to go, but are worried about getting a room, just drive there and find one.

I suppose you could stay at one of the colleges, you know, go early, hit the bars, meet a nice accomodating chick, and spend the weekend with her. Cheap, well relatively cheap, I am sure you would have to take her out for supper and buy drinks and stuff.

Theres a Motel 6 right down the road across from the mall. Got quite a few smaller motels just north up us-41 in town. Plenty of food and sleep in this town. You chinese food lovers, a must try is the 'Great Wall', located at 3rd and Cherry St, 3rd street is us-41, its across from Indiana State and the Court house, just north of the fairgrounds in middle of town. Best chinese place in the state, cheaper and been in business longer than any other chinese place in town. That says alot, most of the chinese joints close shortly after opening, they can't keep things clean.

This is the first year for 2 dynos. I know in previous years there has been one dyno under-roof. The show is under-roof, but as for the other things, who knows. I guess we will sit back and think about it.

Yep if the big events get rained out, looks like the crowd will be huddled in the barn watching dyno runs, enjoying all the diesel, soot showers and vendor fair. So what dyno is everyone gonna want to use, the dynojet or the mustang?

Bgilbert, I have heard that ISU is already back in school this year. I think last year they were moving in the weekend that the Extravaganza fell on. Do you think the Cops will be out more in force this year because of that?? Good thing my friends old lady is pregnate, we have a sober driver!!!! She is going to be a Cummins Pilot for the weekend, he has had her out training for a couple of nights.

Whichever dyno you use I know David had his axles reworked and tires are on. He will be headed up tomorrow. Therefore, the dynojet will be on its way. I don't know which is best, the Dynojet or Mustag, but I do know whenever David has dynoed a truck and then watch the same on the track, the times and speed every time calculate to the same as the dyno. Well, within 10 HP anyway. Very close.

Y'all have a good time. Some of us down here won't make it. To far and school. Me, no school, just to old.

. . Preston. . :)

Well its been raining all day today, forecast for Thurs-Sun is rain rain rain! Looks like beer and dyno runs:D

Cops probly will be out in force, I'm sure Scheid will make an announcement first thing warning us, 'no ram-rodding' etc. Yep ISU is back already. I might bring my canopy tent, and just sit in the muddy grass and drink beer, cook some burgers, think anyone will join me?
