Scheid Diesel Motorsports' diesel dragster breaks another record. The fastest diesel dragster continues to be at the top. The car ran at Alabama International Dragway on May 18, 2008 with a time of 6.93 and a speed of 193 mph. The car, driven by Bo Layne, is now the first and only diesel powered vehicle in the 6's. <br/><br/>Scheid Diesel has designed the engine for the Spitzer built chassis, to achieve 200 mph in the quarter mile. This 300 inch rear engine dragster is powered by a Cummins 5.9L B-series diesel engine. The engine and drive train has been custom designed by Scheid Diesel. They are very close to exceeding the 200 mph barrier.
