I am truly bummed to hear this... ... .

I think the first time I ever saw the Red Rocket make a pass down the strip was at LACR back in either 2001 or 2002 at the "Truckin for Kids" event which is also being held this coming weekend.

I was really looking forward to seeing the truck back down here in CA... ...

Maybe we can pass the hat and get you some fuel money

I remember that event. I ran Noel in my 5spd 4x4,he got by me in the last 100 ft :D

You guys are killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!! :{

I would live to be there but between being on strike and the price of fuel there is no way I can make it :(

Hey Hoss, Maybe you should get with Rhonda and see if you two can get together and share some costs. You can tow Rhonda's truck down and she can tow you back. We could use another woman in this event anyway. Oo. Oo. :-laf

Thanks for the offer guys (and gal :D ) There is just no way I can swing it :( I will do my best to make a So Cal event next season. Good luck to all of you and have a great time :D

We are here with the ATS / Lucas Dragster. We thought we would come out and comtaminate the clean California air.

May be interesting to see what we can do out here... .

After seeing the rail run this weekend,,, you can come out and contaminate the Calif air "any darn time you want" Awesome performance. Thanks for bringing it out. :--)

I just got home from down south about an hour or so ago.....

jwilliams: I remember seeing the black Haisley Tshirt, just didn't check this thread before I left for Palmdale.

I was the old bald grey haired dude with the DHRA grey colored Tshirt walking around and occasionally blasting the train horns on my old F250.

These big events we all need to wear name tags on our shirts.

Anyway, I had to leave early today, but did watch both the Scheid and ATS rails make a pass down the track, don't have any times, but they were both very impressive

I agree with Diesel Lady who made some nice passes down the track, those guys can come on back anytime they want!!!!!!!!!

THE FORD GUY Oo. Oo. Oo.

..

We also had a heck of a time... was impressed with times the truck ran at altitude. Thanks to ATS and DPS and all others involved in this event we had a fun time {even though we made it to the final round WITHOUT Nitrous} ;) :p . . Looking forward to coming out next year!

So what did the rail cars run?

Josh

Hi Josh, Well the rails were both running in the Mid 8's if I remember right. Sorry I don't have the exact numbers, Too much excitement and not enough sleep makes for a bad memory. I will check with Craig later and see if I can get the exact numbers.

Big Jake 1, Thanks for the compliment. My Michellins are getting close to the end so I will be looking for a more agressive tire and maybe I can get a better hookup and improve my time a little. Had a blast though. Glad every one came and had fun. Betty

P. S. Scheid's truck was just Awesome. What an incredible experience to see that truck pull. 319 feet. and it hardly broke a sweat. Too Cool!!!!

We just got home. Darn, that is a trip! 1000 miles each way at 6. 5 MPG.

OK< our best pass: 8. 52 at 162. 5 MPH.

A few stories for those there, and not there.

1. The track was hard to hook after the first 300 ft. We shook and spun in 2nd and 3rd.

2. We ran the ATS 47RE TripleLoc, and it works great. Trans brake HOLDS!

3. We now have a platform that will allow us to put some power through a transmission. On to the turbos and fuel parts we have in the secret box.

4. We wanted to run the Scheid car side by side, but Dan opted not to at this time.

Hummmmmmmmm... ... ... ... ... :-laf

Great time, wish we could have kept running though. It's hard to get to an event and tune in two runs! But that's okay, both rails could have used 10 or so runs to dial in. It was good seeing you again Scott, both at your house and in Palmdale. Thanks to Craig Johnson for putting on one hell of an event and to LACR for running one of the best DHRA member track series in the nation!
