Went to the GLTDR get together today at Scheid Diesel's Lafayette shop. What a tremendously fun time. It was good to meet everyone. It was really a super learning experience. They ran a P-pump on a stand to show the differences in fuel delivery with stock plate and a Banks plate. Plus they had a 24V twin turbo P-pump engine on a stand. WOW!!

The most interesting thing was all three types of our pumps completely tore down for inspection on a bench. I really learned ALOT about whats inside the VP. Just by looking at it, it looks simple and I thought the VE and P7100 had more internal bits and pieces. I even tried to start putting it back together :D ! But we all know its not that simple. But all in all a good experience to have.

Dan Scheid said they currently have people taking Bosch classes on the VP and they are getting the VP test stand/computer programs to do rebuilds... only about 22 shops nationwide will be certified it is thought. This could all be in place sometime in March 2003. Hope so. It would be nice to take a VP somewhere and get it tested for output and timing.

So I guess my point is its good that Bosch is not going to forget about the VP's even though the HPCR system is in use. It gives this 24V owner a good feeling to know there is light at the end of the VP44 tunnel... and the others who have had problems.
