Hey I just joined 2 weeks ago but have been reading threads for quite a long time. I was wondering about these injectors because im wanting more power than POD's but without the price of EDM's. Ive got a 93 with htt's stg III upgrade and a few other things. I havent been inside the pump yet but I have turned a few screws. Ill have pictures and a list of the things ive done within the next week. Any info on these injectors would be great and if there is none then I guess ill be the first to try them. :D

Welcome to the TDR. I am sure what they sell are simply that, POD's. From what I've read, POD's are also known as 370 or 390's. I've seen them on their site before, and with the HP and TQ gains same as POD's and price, they are right in line with POD's. That said, give em a call!! Good people. Or I will ask them sometime before Sat, I have to go pick up 60# valve springs I ordered from them.

I spoke with Scheid today, was told they are made in house. Pump guy was gone, so I didn't get particulars of whether they are EDM's, honed or plain jane POD's. Waiting on a call back next week from him on a set of custom injectors of more hp gain than +60hp, 120ftlb.

Thanks for the info and when you find out what they are let me know. Im looking in to a set of edm's from Piers (who cares about money). They claim they smoke less than POD's and will give you about 75hp. I think their worth $800. Their not on the website, you have to ask about em.

Update

Well, Update?

Edit: Scheid never got ahold of me, another example of vendors not taking us 1st genners serious:mad:.

Josh, where are you located?

I got a set from Haisley they gave me around 120hp, they said scheid made them, I paid 700 for them. There custom edm's and I was the first person to buy a set or even have a set made, so the price has proably went up some. bgilbert im located in Ripley, OH.

Yea, they went up a little  $1020. 00 plus core! They said that they wanted to hear from you Jay to see how they worked out. They also said they were rating them 90HP.

Jay, how do you compare them against the POD's? Could you give us some comparisons between the two? How much boost and EGT change did you see? Any dyno numbers? Smoke? Thanks for all the info.

Thanks

Brenden

Thanks for the info Josh, we appreciate it. Did you have POD's to begin with?

Brenden, did you call Haisley or Scheid on that price?

No I didnt have POD's to begin with, I went from 25psi with the PS62 to hitting the waste gate at 45psi. Messed with the pump a little too. Ive been around POD's and these injectors haze about like them at idle. There pretty smokey but not real bad thanks to the 12cm on the PS62. As far as egts I can hit about 1300 right now with outside temps being around 20F. Personally I think they give you more than 90hp but thats what they are rated at. No dyno numbers yet but ill proably have to wait till this summer to find that out. Does anyone know of any Dyno events in northern Kentucky or southern Ohio?

POD's, KTA rotorhead, leaky intercooler, SP66-14, lotsa timing, I hit 42psi with lots of room left to go on the fuel screw if wanted. My only concern would be to spend $1000 and have a POD's equivalent injector. If I'm gonna spend the money, I want something thats gonna shoot me into orbit  Oo. :-laf , sound like R2 on newest Star Wars... .

Just an FYI..... the stock 370 injector will flow approx 10% less fuel than the POD's... assuming both are in "original/stock" condition.

pb... .

Sorry about calling ya Jay instead of Josh. anywho back on topic. Any one know the gains of the DD3's or 4's over Pod's? How much do they cost? and where is the best place to get them? Any websites on them?

Thanks

Brenden

Brenden, I read where member glhs, went from POD's to DD4's, gained 2 psi of boost, said power felt the same, idle same, and maybe cleaned up the haze, don't quote me though. Someone else will have to point you to the site that makes the DD's. Now if I could only get JAyers to let me try out his new Scheid edm's and then report back to him/everyone about gains if any over POD's:D:D... .

Thanks Bill. I did a search on "gls" his truck runs good 13. 68 @ 100 not to shabby. I guess I need some hotter injectors and some thing bigger than a hx40 or two some things :-laf

Thanks

Brenden

Well I took the plunge:cool:. Got a set bigger than Josh's ordered :p, same price . Should have them in 2 weeks.

Josh, what year is your truck? Did you have to machine your cylinder head for 9mm tipped injectors? I'll let everyone know how they do over POD's.

How much bigger are they? My truck is a 93 and my injectors were 7mm tipped. My injectors scare me, I have a feeling my Getrags going to be ripped apart. My clutch slips really bad and I can break the tires loose on dry pavement in 4th. Im almost afraid to drive it. My rear tires are going to be toast but im lovin every minute of it. I really hadn't got on it till today. I fried a 2nd gen with 370's and the same turbo as me. Not sure on there pump tweeks but im hungry for more power. I can see a SP64 or 66 in my future. I need to get on a dyno here soon but will proably have to wait till Scheids next gig. Ill definitaly be there. bgilbert what kind of clutch do you have? Im in the market for one that will be there with me all the way. I'm interested in knowing how they do over POD's since I skipped them, and glad I did.

Give it time. You will get used to the g-forces and the hp. You'll want more eventually. We have to relearn how to drive our trucks with each big mod, be it air or fuel. It will get to the point where you think you've lost power, because you are so used to it. But if you look at the boost gauge, its still holding that same reading it did aways back when the truck scared you. It's the bomb bug addition I think :p :-laf .

I am not sure. As far as I know it is stock. I plan on calling the previous owner soon, and asking if he ever replaced it with one of the local button clutch builders clutch. I'm sure if I hooked to a load it would slip awful, but empty, and good driving techniques it seems to hold. I can smell it though if I hammer on it for a few seconds.

I can't believe we only have Swank, Josh, myself and Brenden participating in this thread?? What gives? Must not be too many folks interested in something over POD's :-laf .
