Off Roading effects of 285's

Here's their rules for friday. I guess i wont bother attending unless i find a way to bolt my turbo off my pulling truck onto my duramax. The turbo is perfectly good for my duramax but not my cummins, going by their rules. Since when did scheids run duramaxs and powerchokes.

Yep, those are some goofy rules. The whole no adapter plate rule is stupid. Trying run a big cold wheel with a hot wheel stuffed in a bolt on housing is a disaster. We've been through several thousand dollars of chargers this year because of this rule. Limit the cold wheel size only!

Seems to me as if the weight class is a little low on the SRW trucks. IMO it should be at least 7800 if not 8000. I have seen lot's of 2500 ext cab 4x4 go over 7500 with a full tank of fuel and a toolbox.

I think these turbo rules would help to level the playing field, and are probably the reason that Scheids added them.

Maybe they should add a V8 street class since special rules are needed to try to tame the real diesel trucks.

At least Saturday will be pulling using the DHRA rules that most people have built their trucks for and have known about all season not some new set of rules anounced 17 days befor the event.

R&D on Duramax turbos is so limited, that this just lets people starting to develop them throw them on and see what they will do. It takes a lot of R&D to get the right turbo, so I think this is just to see what a duramax with more flow can do.

Also, there is no comercialy available turbos to bolt onto a duramax, The people that have them did the machining/casting to get one on.

Helps to level the playing field, but shouldn't the fords be allowed to have the kitchen sink and all?, I'm afraid they might quit playing. Ah, what am I talking about, there is somthin about PSD people that make them still try.

Matt, check to see if they require hoods, we can make it fit.

sounds like what nascar did to the hemi ...

rules should be the same for everyone

"any single turbo" for chevys/fords but not cummins'?

sounds pretty chickenxxxx

 hmmmm maybe their trying to give the other diesel trucks a chance, cause from what i have read and seen with a single turbo and very little mods with the cummins engine its very hard to compete with them.

I say if ya can't run with the CUMMINS, then don't come to the track... . JMHO :-laf

I couldn't resist. Oh well, I guess I'll get back to my Holsteins now and sanitize those udders before I hook my new high capacity 9. 2 hp Eclipse milking machine up.

By the way, drink milk w/ every meal…

17 days before the event. This exactly what pisses me off. I'm sure scheids has known all along what they were going to do with the rules and wait so no one besides themselves has turbos ready for this pull. I'm sure if i called them up they got a great turbo for me to match this class. The more i talk about this the more i'm ready to put my turbo on Kyles dmax and go **** everyone off and make scheids look stupid for having no rules as to how big of a turbo he can have on it.

I understand a dmax must have some sort of adapter plate to make a bigger turbo bolt up but why does it not have the same compressor housing rules and wheel size rules?

Well, then what are you complaing about? :D You've got plenty of time. We have been known to throw motors together over night for races the next day. ;)

It just another example of the man tryin to bring us down. ;) :D

Give the V-8's what they want but the I-6's need to go by special rules to make it more even for the little engines. :-{}

Not sure if my HTB2 will pass or not but I'm gonna try.

Daily, nothing you work on belongs in a stock class, anyway.

Scheids is running SIX (6)(all the fingers on one hand, plus one from the other, Matt. ) different classes of pulls on 2 days, plus two Dynos, a Mustang, and a Dynojet, and a day of dragracing.

Pick something your truck is close to matching, and run it.

Or, go out to your truck, write a set of rules that match it, and I will personally give you an exhibition hook on Saturday called "mfunderburgh class"

 :{ :p

I will guarenTee you win, is that better? :-laf :-laf
