Competition Scheids truck, the one to beat

[Sled Puller]

After a conversation with a drunk on a cell phone, I believe Kent won tonight, with Black Dog and Ed West close behind.



Dave Mitchell had issues, mainly, not pulling the sled down the track as far as the winner!.



Thats an 02 and 03 Scheid event wins, and an 03 TiM, for Scheids truck. Plus many others, possibly undeafeated this year?



Their success is well deserved and earned.

Hopefully someone took some video's of the runs and is not going to hog them like Muncie, the best run at Muncie is on the Video only. I would really like to see a video Ed West's truck... . good people out of the Haisley camp. Thanks for putting up with the drunk Gene for the update.

Friday night 8000# super stock:

1. Another win for the Scheid truck/ Kent Crowder.

325 feet, didn't look like he was into his full power either.

He broke a yoke at the end of the pull.

This truck is awesome, and the most powerful diesel pickup in the country hands down.



2. Eric Stacey, he is now carrying the flag for the Mitchell/EEP group in my opinion. Every pull this guy makes is awesome and is a solid 3rd in power in the country.



3. Ed West/Haisley Machine this is another Indiana truck with a stack through the hood.

Good pull and is probably going to get better as things workout!



Dave Mitchell had alot of problems, could not get off the line worth a crap. Still shakin' like and shuddering.

He made an exhibition pull at the end and started out rough which killed his footage.



Saturday night:



The "SHOW ME SMOKERS" this gang from Missouri is carrying alot of horsepower and are top pullers, congrats guys for all the great pulls.



HAISLEY family and its customers had great pulls and kicked A--!!!

Congrats guys! Another force to be reckoned with.





Open Class Saturday:



Dave was broke from the night before and his truck was not in attendance.

Kent Crowder and the Scheid truck had its yoke fixed from the night before and when they got the truck off the trailer realized that the rear end was making some not so friendly noises.

They did not pull either.



That set up the win for Eric Stacey, he was one of the last trucks to pull and it was a 315'+.



It slips my mind at the moment who got second (too much sun!)

Slivka farms/Chad Davis did well and got 3rd if I remember right.



The SHOW ME SMOKERS/ Mac's Performance Duramax had a great pull and I think was 4th, nice power nice suspension!

ATS Duramax came out of the hole like a rocket and was having a great pull until it upshifted and that killed the pull.

Mike Meinecke from ATS stayed in one piece and got 7th place.

Sean Porter from ATS broke his front axle earlier in the night.



More info later, too much sun, dust and humid nasty heat this weekend!



Dyno runs:

About 25% of the people that dynoed this weekend maxed it out at 500hp and 1000+ ft lbs.

Including myself

I talked with Ed (I think it was him... . ) at TiM... . he was a very down to earth dude that answered EVERY question I had.



His truck spools a set of IMMENSE twins with ease - as soon as he gets all the bugs worked out - Scheid will have some competition..... Don't get me wrong - Scheid's truck is insane and I'm not discounting that... . but the small crowd of insane trucks like Scheid's is growing bigger and bigger.



Pulling isn't all about power - as Sled Puller has shown us many times. None of the really big dog pullers will ever get on a dyno - because they don't care about the banter that the internet folks like us generate over HP #'s..... they care about how the truck performs in the 300' world.



The quest continues for the first 1k HP truck (dyno verified of course... . )..... :-laf

It looked to me as if the Scheids truck let off at the end so he did not have to pull the sled around the entire track. He make it look easy. Mitchell did not look good at all.

Yup, good guy. Ed's advice at Muncie before he ruinated his truck, helped me decide on my gear, for the 7200 win.

It wasn't only gear selection that he helped you with.



He moved the sled up out of the starting line "mush pit" and up onto hard ground.



I quickly moved the sled back into the mush pit for my pull after watching his.



Come to think of it, I guess my strategic sled starting location helped you win as well.

Thanks JR we had a great time, the SHOW ME SMOKERS (Craig, Jeff, Me, Ray and Matt with the BIG black Excursion that I towed up there) did very well this year. I definatly can't bracket race my nervous reactions really make me look foolish. I still had fun sooting up the 1/8th and slamming the six speed. I really wish our mentour (Larry Crawford) could of been pulling right along with us this year. We all GREATLY appreciate all the help Larry we owe you 1. Hope to see everyone soon!

Chris, I had my cone mover put it back to the mush pit as well, I think it was Thunder.

I figured I didn't want THAT much traction!
