I'm looking from inputs from you heavy haulers out there who have tried the Scotty Air II on our 24v CTD.

Wildcast Diesel is posting some pretty big EGT reduction numbers, however I'm currious if any of you have realized these types of reductions (200 - 300 degree reduction pre turbo under load).

Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy if this kit can get me a 50 - 100 degree reduction running down the freeway; cooling on the mountain passes would be a bonus.

By the way, I pull a 13,000 pound HR FW.

I believe in it enough to offer a money back guarantee. I don't know how many I have sold( a LOT) and haven't had any complaints. Don't take my word for it though I'm sure others will chime in .

When I opened the cowl hole the turbo whine went UP noticably! I run with only the fender intake open.

Note what turbo I have though, yours is probably different.

The air straightener device one of the diesel shops is offering might solve the problem. I am going to build my own air straightener (one TDR member recommends length 5. 5 times the diameter of the tube).

I think this plus some sound baffleing will cut the turbo whine to acceptable. I did find some ear plugs that cut out all the high pitch turbine whine and still allow normal pitch radio and conversation.

I like my Scotty II, lots of air just like advertised. Just have to be aware that YOUR turbine MIGHT be a little noisy with the cowl opening which gives the MOST air. But believe me, we will get the whine figuered out, just have to be persistent and use the fender opening IF it is objectionable.

In the fender opening mode the turbine has a nice low quiet soft whistle barely noticeable. With the windows down you can't hear it at all.

After I installed scotty II my temperature drop down over 100 degree, but I don't cut hole in cowl area, which they claim will give you up to 300 degree reduction. I don't want to much whine from turbo. So far, very happy with scotty performance.

Mine dropped about 100 when I went from the BHAF to the Scotty. Just my 2 cents worth. But I does sound cool with the 55. :D
