thinking about gettting a scotty two air filter, has anybody tried them & what do you think. I've heard that they can be purchased at wildcat diesel, but all i get is season greeting from their web site. any information would help. thanks in advance al mendes

The Scotty II will be my next BOMB. :D

CooOOooL Air. :-laf

Just hit the close button when you see the "Season's Greetings" message the website is hiding underneath.

I've got one on my truck. I'm running it in "hush mode" right now. Haven't cut the hole yet.

My EGT's are no higher than with the K&N RE-0880 open element filter. It is much quieter than just an open filter. I know the noise level will increase when I cut the hole but I'm sure the EGT cooling will make up for that. :D .

Rod at Wildcat is great to deal with and a good guy to boot.

wouldn't be without it !

Curtis.....come boy make the cut :p

with all that cool foggy air up there you need more LOL

I'm from Eureka [raised there]... most anyone last name Bingham is my relative

Anyone done up a cowl dam?

Seems like a couple cardboard cut to fit forms & some of that sqirt in expanding foam/insulator stuff, with drain @ the bottom, would keep the nasty sucking sound out of the vents.

I have the Scotty 2 and wouldn't be without it. It does exactly what Scotty says it does it reduced EGTs.

I had the Scotty 1 (Psychotty) and the Scotty 2 is about half as loud as the earlier one.

It flows lots ofCoooOOOooOOoOL AIR!!!!!!

Love it

I have the Scotty II and love it. Sounds cool, and lots of cool air. EGTs go up slower and lower and come down quicker and lower ( if that makes sense?) U gotta cut the hole too. Its not too bad. I cut it, used a dremel to smooth the sharp edges and primed the bare metal to protect from Michigan weather. I had a AFE Mega canon and I like the scotty better!

I'm also working on an idea, possibly with a 4'' sliding "blast gate" from my wood shop dust collection system to put on the end that goes to the cowl to show it down in the winter to allow quicker heat up and reduce grid heater cycles. U would slide the gate closed in the winter to reduce COLD air flow. I'll lets everyone know how it works once the kinks are worked out.

My 2 cents.

Curtis, just fold the insulation back before you cut. When you remove the Scotty and put the insulation back in place no one will ever know there's a huge gaping hole in the truck.

Major functional item. Would I buy another one... YES. . would I cut a hole in the firewall. . just as soon as I could get the cord and drill out.

This thing works!

Thanks to all that replied, I want to get one but unable to get connected to Wildcat diesel. Still get seasons greetings, Does anyone have a phone # or does anybody else handle them. Thanks again Al Mendes

306-862-5829... ... . be sure to give Rod a hard time about his rampant Christmas specials page at the same time! :D

It's a no-brainer!!

I got my Scotty II from Rod Snaith at Wildcat Diesel last Summer and it's been on for almost 5 months now. I thought about the hush mode installation for all of 5 seconds  ... ... ... . and then started drilling... ...

Rod is even set up now to loan you the 4-inch hole saw plus drill arbor for a refundable deposit, so you can't lose. :D

It does exactly what it says on the box. EGTs climb slower and fall faster, turbo spool up is noticeable, but IMO , not objectional - anyway you can always crank up the music/video... . I have no regrets (or a commercial affiliation with any vendors).

You know it makes sense... . don't wimp out!

Who you calling a wimp?:D :D

I'm just planning on crossing over to the dark side in a few weeks, so I'll just wait to drill the hole then. :)

You guys can thank John for the 4. 5" hole saw. After he was done with it, he sent it over the big pond for us guys in the colonies :D to use.

Albert, on the website season's greetings screen, if the button isn't there to close it, just press Alt-F4 to close the pop-up. That pop-up was a mistake :( The Wildcat index page should show up behind it. If it doesn't, make sure the url in your browser is http://www.wildcatdiesel.com with no additional .htm filenames after it.

You can also take a look at www.scottyairsystems.com for a more in-depth write up about the system.

And Scott and I thank you all for the kind words... .

Any one with a scotty 2 think it could be painted a different color?? I would love to have a red one, but Scotty said it would not happen because of the amount and cost of colored plastic that would have to be orderd. So could I paint it red? or have it done professionaly?? or my last thought was red rhino liner??

Thanks
