SCTDR BBQ Lunch at Sticky Fingers 5/2/09, Columbia SC

Smokin Up the Valley

I had some problems with stumbling when I got into and it cleared up after I mashed the petal a couple of times. I figured at the time it was the pump diesel I just put into it. In retrospect I did notice it was throwing out lots of grey smoke and not black when I mashed the petal. This morning it started up just like always, I let it warm up and then it started missing real bad , got dead petal and then it died.

Im glad it did it at home and not on the road. Hey 235,000 miles on orginal injection pump aint bad, I can't complain, just bad timing, just spent $500 on the AC in the wife's diesel surburban.

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!

How does a Dyno setup at the Sled Pull sound? Well it not official yet but it is in the works.

WE NEED MORE PEOPLE AT THIS EVENT to make it happen! So come on and let me by posting here or PM me who is going to be there either for the weekend or just the day. Get your reservations made at the campground and PASS the WORD!!!

This would be a great annual event and we might even try to get it NHRDA sanctioned!!

To pull, cost is $10. Gate is $5. ALL PROCEEDS go to the local FFA

Ok I need imput ASAP,

What time does everyone want to do the sled pull? I was thinking meeting there at 4pm and getting at it by 5.

Also friday night when does everyone want to get together? I was thinking of hitting a local mexican resturant on the way to gas up:-laf and then off to the drags.

Kyle

That sounds great, we just talked to a fellow CTD owner (a member of many other forums but not tdr) and told him about the campsite, so he might be able to come join us.

Glad to hear it Ken, I was wondering if everyone had forgotten about the up and coming event. How many want to pull their truck Saturday? I was hoping to pull but its getting close on get the truck back together. I am now waiting on parts to get here and I will not be hooking up my Edge until things break in. This injection pump mess just keeps snowballing, I started out with a dead injector pump, and found my harmonic balancer was fried with large pieces of rubber missing. So I have now replacing, 1 Injection Pump, Cam position sensor, water pump, hoses, belt, and harmonic balancer. I am putting the still good parts I replaced on a shelf just incase I or someone breaks down. Between the u-joints, filters and the rest of spare parts I have on hand I could almost open a Dodge/Cummins garage ;)

We started pulling gear this weekend, food shopping later this week, load on Fri am and head west. I haven't seen a 2WD with street tires in a pull, don't think that would work. Been on a Dyno in '07, that was fun. Dyno's take planning and a good sized pile of show up money. I'd like us to have one again, we can talk this weekend.

Ok guys I need a head count on how many people are going to pull ASAP. I have to call them tomorrow.

They need 20 or more to make this work, so e-mail me at -- email address removed -- if you are coming and if you intend to pull. Remember its only $10 to pull:D and you get to do it more than once if you so desire, try beating that anywhere else!!!

So here is the game plan,

Friday, meet up at Sportsman gas and bait shop at 5pm (its right in front of the entrance to the state park)

Head to Wareshoals Dragway stopping in Due West first for chow

7pm at Wareshoals drag way having fun.

Saturday cookout????

Sled pull at 5pm (if we have enough people).

Please remember that there is no alcoholic beverages at the seld pull, its school property.

Again e-mail or PM me to let me know who is coming.

I am going to give it a try even though my edge is not hooked up yet. I finally got my truck up and running thanks a lot in part to JR !!!.

Thanks

Kyle

Waah my truck is in the shop with trans issues and Will's front axle sprung a leak, so we won't pull. But if the dyno is around, it might be fun to see what my stocker does...
