SCTDR BBQ Lunch at Sticky Fingers 5/2/09, Columbia SC

SCTDR,

It has been a bit quiet lately, I think we have all been bit bummed out with the cost of #2, so lets focus on having fun again. Here goes the basics, more details TBA as we put this together.

South East Diesel Jamboree

Who: Perfection Clutch + K&L Chrome + TDR Members + Diesel Fans + 18 Wheelers!

When: November 15th, 2008

Where: K&L Chrome, Florence SC, I-95 at exit 169.

What: Dyno by Dunbar (pick ups only), Show and Shine several classes, other activities and of course Food.

DETAILS TO BE WORKED OUT, THIS IS THE ROUGH OUTLINE!

Mark your calendars, clean the change out of the couch to pay for the #2, get your honeydo list carved down! It will be cooler than last year, that's for sure.

Kelvin and April own K&L Chrome. K&L has been customizing big rigs for years based here in Florence SC and they have signed with the CMT network, and Kelvin is, well, in charge of the Trick My Truck show on CMT.

Last year was a great start and teaming up with K&L will only add more enthusiasts and THE BIG RIGS for us to admire, K&L makes em shine!

John,

Sorry about the conflicting schedule, it was a tough fight on the calendar to find that date.

Now, do you want ceramic or organic? do you want to install it up here or at your shop?

I'll call you later with details.

Anthony,

for you guy's we'll make an exception, come on down! Hoping to have an interesting event, working with K&L and their show truck rigs should be interesting.

Hey Guys,

New member in Greenville looking for an acceptable Dodge mechanic, specially trans as I keep popping a P700 code on my 03.

THanks!

Welcome KLauber,

I use Chip's Transmissions in Sevierville TN and Olee Poole @ PowerByPoole.com in Salisbury NC for the performance. Anything else I use Cummins down Shop Rd in Columbia.

I think you should start a new Thread on where the best shop in Greenville would be. Might get more of what you're looking for.

Gary,

I'm pretty sure Joe and I are coming. Piston Slapper may make it as well. If he doesn't, we will probably bring his truck anyway. I'm going to start building up a truck for my cousin in a couple of weeks. If we get it together, he may come and dyno it also.

Can you send me some information on the hotel that Perfection uses. I would like to call and set up reservations.

Try to stay dry over the weekend and all you SCTDR members be save.

Anthony

Anthony,

Joe, Piston Slapper and Anthony! WOW, we'll have to roll out the red carpet for our Mid-TN neighbors, and warn the SCHP!

I am waiting on some artwork to finish the flyer, sorry bout that.

Hopefully the above link will give you some phone numbers and links. The two areas that would work very well due to location are hotels at I-95 and SR52, this is the Darlington Raceway exit, lots of hotels and this is just an exit away from K&L Chrome. The other is just a few miles south on I-95 and I-20, it might be referred to as Civic Center or Magnolia Mall area. There is also a hotel or two at I-95 SR327 which is an exit north of K&L.

Just a small good note, I saw our fuel prices as of this weekend were under $4 I think one was 3. 89 at several truck stops on I-20 coming out of Columbia SC.

Thanks Guys.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Schedule change announcement.

Due to a very tight schedule situation, I regret to inform all that our fall date has been cancelled, but at the same time we have a new date already.

The Southeast Diesel Jamboree is rescheduled for Saturday April 11th 2009.

Same location, K&L Chrome. Details will be worked out and announced soon. Dave Dunbar has confirmed the date with us for his Dyno.

I apologize for any inconvenience this schedule change has created.

See you in the spring.

Guys, I agree, bummer. But due to circumstances this was the only option. It's a large commitment to put this together and not waste your time and expenses. This gives us plenty of time to put together the event we have brainstormed about.

I'll post with updates as they are available.

Important Scheduling Notice.

SCTDR:

Due to various circumstances we are not going to have the previously rescheduled Southeast Diesel Jamboree on Saturday April 11th 2009. This event is cancelled.

I would ask SCTDR members to consider a get together at a local restaurant, pay as you go, at a location, date and time that works best for a bunch of us.

Remember as a Local Chapter we do not have any budget. Let's get together and discuss what we would like to do as a TDR Chapter.
