SE Michigan October Dragstrip Get-Together

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Fuel locations in S.W. Ohio / Tristate?

Mopar Nats On Brice Rd.

On October 16th at Lapeer Dragway: http://lapeerdragway.com Around eight of the local TDR members and their friends are getting together for a test and tune day at the track.

At least six additional members and trucks have expressed interest and will probably show. I'm planning on twisting the arm of a few Ford guys too.

So torque down your cylinder head, plug in those big injectors sitting out in the garage, tweak up the boost and come on up to Lapeer dragway for the afternoon. !!

PM member JO'Leary for additional info, or myself LsFarm. This is a Saturday local get-together, I don't think Eric McBride is going to show up with any trophys, but we can still have a lot of fun and surprise a lot of Michigan folks with some pretty fast trucks

I know of at least three trucks that run in the mid to low 13's that will be there, and at least one that runs in the 12's. I don't think there is a SE Michigan truck that runs in the 11's but it sure would be nice to be surprised and have one show up!!

Ok, that sounds good. Any idea on what time things will be getting started and what time we will have to wrap things up by?

Gates open at 11:00, Test and tune begins at 12:00. I think they run until 5:30 or 6:00???? I have seen them stay open until 8:00. Depends on car count, i mean truck count :D

Also remember to bring a helmet, everyone must wear one, no matter how fast you run. I will bring 2 helmets, so if you dont have one dont freak out.

Any trucks running over 150 MPH must have a chute :--) That means you Greg!!!!!!!!!!

Joe

Thanks for the info. I have a helmet so I should be all set. I'm looking forward it, as long as my OEM input shaft holds together :) If it does pop I will be a bit closer to my DTT installer than if it popped at home.

Damn! I just checked the calender and I forgot about a wedding I have to go to on the 16th  I hope you all have a good time.

10 Sec truck....

I'll definately have my 10 second truck there. You know the one that runs 10 feet in 10 seconds. ;) My GF and I will be there. Pete hope you can make it, wouldn't mind see'in ya again, B. s. some more.

Glad to hear you can make it. This will be my first GTG since picking up my CTD. looking forward to meeting everyone. I hope everyone will forgive me but i will be racing my 04 GTO, Gota see what she will do. My truck will be there but as a tow truck for my friend's (Rick) 68 GTO drag car. My trans just isnt up to the task of drag racing yet. I lined up against my bro in laws Duramax this weekend and got waxed. He owed me one anyway, i thumped him a month ago when he was still stock. I guess i shouldnt of turned him onto the world of bombing. A 4" exhaust, gauges and a programer later he owns me now. I have plenty of power just cant get it to the wheels. Can you say DTT!!!! Anyway i am sure there will be a few CTD's there to take care of that MAX.

We will be bringing a grill. Next week some time we should try and figure how many burgers and dogs we will need. Also if it rains on Saturday we may run on Sunday. The only problem with Sunday is that it's kinda busy. Any feedback or ideas welcome on this. Hopefully we wont have to worry about it. :D

Joe

No Rain.....

Lets hope for no rain. If it does rain, i most likely won't be there sunday.

That poor stock trans. I'm in the same boat as you are Joe. Greg will be getting a call sooner than later as i just started slipping my TC. :{ Have to try and baby it for a while. I'm sure Greg could do a number on your trans as well ;)

I wish i could afford to have Greg do my trans. Dtt stuff is good and Greg does a heck of a job. Rumor has it he is high tech now and has a fancy case/parts washer

If memory serves me right, you are correct. Greg is one hell of a guy, and does one hell of a job on anything he tackles. I wish right now i could afford a DTT as well. Damn women have to have a house.

C-ya at the strip

I am ready to do some drag racing, anyone else???????

Looks like it's going to be cold with a chance of rain. Hopefully the forcast will change by Friday.

Joe

I may be there on my bike. I was planning on going to the mid michigan motorplex on sunday for a test and tune but if the weather holds on saturday I'll try to be there to say hi.

The weather looks kinda iffy for Saturday. Radar looks like it may clear out but the forcast say's light rain. You know how that can be.

Sunday's weather looks real good. I still think that Saturday would be the best day to be there, if it doesn't rain. Saturday is test and tune, the track is not as busy and you could get plenty of runs. The problem with Sunday is that they run elimination races in the afternoon. You get about 2 hours to run before that. Depending on how busy they are you would get 2 or 3 runs.

Thats all i plan on running anyway. Thats what i always say and end up running all day :D

Whats everyones thought on Sunday if it rains on Saturday.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for Saturday

I will post my cell phone # feel free to call me Saturday morning to see if it's raining. i live about 10 miles from the track.

810-691-8298 I have free weekends so dont worry about calling.

Joe

If it ends up raining on saturday I'm going to run at the Mid Michigan motorplex on sunday. They're open for test and tune from 10a-4p and it's a lot closer to me. Hopefully the rain will hold off but it does look real iffy - 70% chance of rain they are saying right now. :(
