First leak in 85K! Noticed leak, got under engine and saw evidence of a leak between the power steering pump and the vacum pump. I called local dodge boys who said if it is the pwr steering pump it will cost $380, if it is the vacuum pump it will be $2840!!!, and neither one would be covered. Called Cummins who said it is common for the seal between the two to go out and there is a $8 seal kit and even mentioned a local dealer that does "a lot of them" under warranty!

Has anyone had this problem, is it as simple as a gasket kit and is it covered under warranty?

P. S. Vacuum pump is working and so is the power steering pump!

OH BY THE WAY: Cummins wanted $1200 for the Vacuum pump! Thanks Dodge!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the same oil leak on my 93' 12 valve and have replaced the o-ring many times. Does anyone know the part # for this o-ring. I am getting tried of replacing mine every three months.

My connection seems slow this morning so your going to have to do your own search, look under my name for vacuum pump and you will find a thread with the Cummins and Dodge part numbers for the seal kit. It is cheaper to get it from Cummins and includes a decent set of instructions. There is no need to spend $60 for a video from someone to do this.
