Maybe a rookie-ish question, but I am installing DiPricol Boost and EGT gauges, on the boost gauge I put teflon tape on the treads to the intake but did not put on the small compression fitting to the nylon hose, on both sides, engine and back of gauge:mad: , am I in trouble? Will this be a bad thing sooner or later? Should I just take it off and seal it? I don't know why I didn't in the first place but I just want to know is this necessary? Did all of you do this? Thanks

The compression fitting (ferrel) makes the seal. The nut just holds it together and keeps it tight. No need to seal that nut.

Although the nut doesn't hold pressure it shouldn't be tightened very much at all, it will deform the ferrule and leak. Probably due to this I've ran across two nuts that have vibrated off and have since started using green Loc-Tite on them. Never try to reuse the ferrule, chances are good that it will leak. A new ferrule is so cheap that my local auto parts just gives them to me.
