Help

I'm posting this email from a newer member

I like the feature on the main page where it offers to search all forum posts since I last logged in. I have noticed, though, that if I just go to the main page (to quickly check out the featured rig for the day) and no further that it seems to reset that clock most of the time. I tried to do a search for example, all posts 1 week old and newer. The search engine would not allow it as the * I put in the word search was less than 3 characters. I looked in the Forum FAQ and did not see anything.

How can I execute a search of all forums based on age? I am learning a lot by trying to browse all posts subjects. My wife says I spend an awful lot of time reading them, and she is right. But, I am learning a lot about how to take care of my awesome truck.

Yes, going to the front page will reset the date when you visited the site. Any activity on the site when logged in will reset your last visited date and it would require quite a bit of programming to change that. There also isn't a way to view all posts within a certain number of days - it's a limitation of the software. What you can do is click on "view last days posts" at the top of the forum list and that will give you the posts within the last 24 hours as opposed to your last login date. Outside of that the only option is to go into each forum and read down until the last time you were on - which is how I do it.

I have been watching for a better search engine for vB but so far I have not found one.
