Seat Belt Alarm

I know on my 3rd generation trucks I could turn the seat belt alarm off the dash lights would stay on but the alarm wouldn't go off. Is there a way to do that on the 4th generation trucks. It is such a pain to put the seat belt on when driving around the farm. I know I can buckle it and leave it behind me but I would rather just not hear it period.

The cheesy cheap way is to go to a junkyard and just cut the part off of a seatbelt that clicks in. Click it in and fool your truck into thinking you are all buckled in. I'm sure with resistors or cutting into your wires it can be done but this way is quick, cheap and leaves your truck unmolested. Plus, completely reversible in approximately 3 seconds.

Yes, you can do it on the 4th gen trucks (at least up to 2012) using the same procedure as on the 3rd gens. I did mine the first week I got it. I can't remember the specific sequence, but if you do a search, you should find the thread that describes it. If not, let me know. I think I saved the instructions in my console.

Get in vehicle, shut all doors and buckle seat belt. Turn key to run position without starting. As soon as the seat belt light goes out unbuckle and buckle seat belt 3 times within 10 seconds ending with it buckled. Turn key off. You should hear a single chime if done properly. Seat belt buzzer is now disabled.

gtoli, if I had won the Lottery I would have gave to you, but I didn't so I guess you are out of luck. I wasn't looking for a Laramie Longhorn when I bought this one, but I will say I like it a lot. I just hope the empty mileage improves some.

It worked on my '14 SRW standard cab 3500 after going back in and reading the instructions again.
