A few questions from a new guy

My wifes '99 just started misbehaving! Seems the Seat Belt Dash Light has a mind of its own. Some times the light will go out as designed, but come on again. Other times it will stay on regardless if the seat belts are in use or not.

Any suggestions?

There is a wire in the belt receptacle used to sense when the belt is fastened. Also, there is a sensor in the belt retrieval system to indicate when the belt is fed out. Usually it is the sensor in the receptacle that starts giving this problem.

Seat Belt Light

Had the same problem with my '99. Found out that mine was caused by a bad connection in the plug under the driver's seat. It's a white multiple receptacle with a plastic clip on it. I pulled it apart and put some electrical connection lube on it. Haven't had a problem in over a year. Hope this helps.

Had the same problem with my 99. Light would come on and stay on for a few days no matter what, then go back to normal.
