The procedure in the owners manual works! Thanks guys! FWIW... the seatbelt must be latched 3 times exactly. More or less and it won't work.

The procedure is as follows:

1) With engine switched off, latch the driver's seatbelt.

2) Start the truck.

3) Unlatch, Latch, Unlatch, Latch, Unlatch, Latch. This step must be completed within 10 seconds, start to finish, or it will not work.

4) Turn engine off. Tone will sound telling you the change has been made.

5) Unlatch the seatbelt; you are done.

Steps 2 - 4 must be completed within 60 seconds, start to finish, or it will not work.

You can turn the dinger back on by repeating the above procedure. DC does place a warning in the instructions for this saying that they do not recommend doing this.

It tells you in the operators manual how, you have to do a bunch of stuff like close your left eye while scratching your back and picking your nose with the wipers on and then honk the horn. But really it tells you how in the book it also tells you how to make it so that your doors don't lock themselves when you start to drive.

I tried all that, I got to the pickin my nose part but it was so darn cold out I didn't want to take my gloves off, so I gave up!!! :p :-laf

Hey thanks to all of you my 4. 5 seat belt is about to drive me up the wall! Tried the owner/s manual way a bunch of times with no luck. I'll try again with just "3" times in those ten seconds - maybe it will work this time. I knew that I could not be the only "idiot" who could not turn this annoyance off. The center seat belt into the driver's is something I had not thought of! "DUH!" Any way thanks! These forums are great, really! R. Hammon Hannibal, MO

Went to the dealer last week to have some work done (free oil change, MPG TSB, door trim TSB) and they told me you can't turn it off. I told them there was instructions in the manual and that they weren't working for me. The jerks still persisted that it cannot be turned off. I then said that if it cannot be done then why would DC put it in the manual? The answer I got was DC does stuff like that.

I was ******. The bad attitude and "the customer is always wrong" way of thinking in that service dept. was horrible.

DON'T GO TO BAXTER DODGE SERVICE DEPT. IN OMAHA, NE!!!!!!!!!!

Sales dept is great.

Sorry... just had to vent.

PS... what is the real way to turn off the seatbelt chime???? Does the "only 3" clicks work? Thanks in advance.

Ah... Good old Johnny Baxter Dodge! There is one Dodge dealer that HAS to buy their 5 star rating!
