Seat Belt Light On - Repair?

The driver's side seat belt causes the light in the cluster to intermittently flash on my 2001.5. It is related to the switch in the right side of the seat belt (end with the red release button). I replaced that end in 2016 for same issue, but the price has gone up significantly in the last 30 months or so.

Has anyone taken these apart and done any repairs? I am assuming it is simply a switch and a couple wires that isn't making contact all the time. The unit looks a bit sealed up with "no user serviceable parts"...

My seatbelt, abs, and brake light has been on for several years. I have fulled out the abs sensor on the pumpkin. There is a seatbelt control module under the center front seat, but if it is disconnected, the seatbelts lock.

Sorry I cannot offer a solution, but please post if you find one.
