Has anybody found a fix for reverse lights on NV5600?

I want to install a Joto Desk in my truck the model 425-5262 for 05's mounts on the hump to the bolts under the center console, problem is that my Grandson can fit in the middle seat and the base will interfere with his feet.

The model 425-5349 for 04's mounts to the seat rails and is a better fit without affecting the center floor space.

So I called Jotto Desk and their tech support said that the seat rail mount model 425-5349 will fit the 05's however they do not sell it for the 05 application because the seat rail bolts have air bag deployment sensors installed on them and removing them requires a dealer recalibration.

I would love to look this up in the service manual however Geno's has had my manual on back order for going on 2 months now so can anyone confirm or deny that the bolts require a recalibration? or That the seat mounting bolt sensors even exist?

I'm sorry that I do not have a manual, and nor do I have a 2005 model to look at. I can give you some general SRS info, though.

It is common on newer vehicles to have seat weight sensor under the front passenger's seat. These sensors, combined with information gathered from the seat belt buckles and additional occupant position detection sensors in the seat base foam and seat-back (I don't know if these are in the Ram seats), goes to the SRS unit to identify the relative size (and in some vehicles, sitting position) of the front passenger. With this info, the SRS unit determines the level of deployment for the front passenger's airbag as well as whether or not to deploy the side airbags or side curtain airbags (again, not necessarily all of these are on Rams).

Any time the seat components are replaced, the seat weight sensor unit needs to be recalibrated. If the bolts in question actually attach to the seat weight sensors, then recalibration is likely needed. If the bolts are merely under the seat track, and under the sensors, then I'm not sure. As you know, you'll need to check the manual. While the manual may not tell you, but in addition to the stock Dodge programmer/tester that the dealer has, there may be a means of manually programming (and that won't be easy to find if it's not in the manual). I know this because I edit service manuals for another auto manufacturer, and we don't always include the manual programming, because we want the dealers to use the programmer/tester (usually to check to make sure there are no DTCs that aren't indicated - yes, those can exist, and you'll never know about it unless a tester is connected - at least on the brand I work on).

Good luck on your quest.
