The drivers seat bottom cushion has the usual torn seam, and is ripped. I've located a shop that will re-cover the seat bottom. I would like to remove just the seat bottom, and take it to them. Is this possible without removing the whole seat? Thanks.

yes, there's only 4 bolts, one in each corner, easy as pie on a manual seat, a little trickier on an electric but still can be done in 5 minutes with a 1/4" ratchet set

ps, while you're at it put a piece of carpet between the foam and the banjo wire on the bottom of the seat so the wire doesn't cut into the foam anymore, it will really firm your seat up

I have had the best luck from a store like Hobby Lobby, get the high density like you make you own cushions for wooden chair cushions, much better than Wally World foam

Thanks for the replies... I did a search for the info, but didn't get the EXACT info i needed. The shop called, and he's having a little trouble getting the material. He said he has a "last resort" source, but he does't want to go that route. Big $

Hello

I have a 96 and the seat wore out six years ago. I purchased a air seat from Air Hawk. Works great. Comes with a small hand pump and you can adjust it for your ride and comfort.

Good luck,

JL

Several people on here have recommended a product called "Nu Foam", made by Poly-fil. It is actually more like a batting material, supposed to hold up better than foam. Wal-Mart carries it. I need fix my seat bottoms too.

What about the fabric cover itself? Is there a good "reasonably priced" cover available? I'd like to change my driver's seat bottom cover/foam myself if possible. What I mean is a direct matching fabric cover to replace the original not a new "slip-on" cover that just hides the original under it. (Scary flash-back to Grandma's plastic "slip-on covers on the couch... shiver). Thank you.

Hello

Air Hawk is a commerical product. Originally made and applied for motor cycle seats - then they went into the semi-truck field.

I have owned one for six years or so. They do have a cover, made of fabric and is black with a zipper to remove the cover for washing and to access the air valve. Go on the AIR HAWK site and take a look. I would purchase another one if required, and it fits my Dodge seat perfectly.

Good luck,

JL
