I've seen several 2nd Gen truck where the driver's side seat is torn/worn through by the door. Looks like this was caused by sliding in and out over the edge of the seat without using a step or running board. My seat(cloth) is doing the same thing and I would appreciate any suggestions regarding seat covers or recovering the seat. I'm looking for something that will result in a durable seat that looks good. Most of the cheapo covers I've tried don't fit well and look tacky.

I put Wet Okole seat covers on mine. They look great and are well made and fit exactly. They are made out of the same material as wet suits so they are very protective of the seat underneith. Down side is that on long trips they leave you damp because they don't breath. I think that there are other companies out there that utilize a different material down the middle to help with this.

Check out marathonseatcovers.com I have pick in my gallery. You can get the 1000D Cordura it is tough as nails and waterproof. I have them on both my trucks, great fit too.

I had a 99 dodge that had done that, I got it back to the dealer under warranty and they had an upolstery shop replace that torn panel.

On my 02 Im using the seat covers from genos to save my seats as I use my truck for landscaping and I've been happy with them.

I had the Dodge seat covers in my '01 for about 100k miles and have them now in my 04. 5. They hold up well and are reasonably priced.

I used www.leatherseats.com when I re-did the interior of my 99'. I was going to do the installation myself but ended up paying someone to do it. I upgaded from cloth to leather. The kit included both front seats, jump seat w/ console cover and the door panels. The back seats still looked new so I left them along.

I've Been Using The Covercraft Seat Covers From Geno's Garage At $119. 00 For The Entire Front Seat In A Quad Cab And My Seats Look Like New Still. It's A 98. 5 And You Can Take Them Out And Wash Them And Can Buy Two Sets For The Price Of One Set Of Sheepskins Although They Don't Feel As Nice As Sheep Skins. Ha! Ha! Just Got My Second Set And The Truck Is 7 Yrs Old.

Geno's Sheepskin

I have been using Geno's Sheepskin covers and find them cool in the summer and warm in the winter. They are a good fit out of the box and simple to install. They do NOT have a cutout for the lumbard support adjustment. I find that I rarely change the lumbard support and it can still be easily adjusted without a cutout. You could also alter the cover if easy adjustment from a driving position is a priority.

I've got 142,xxx miles on my truck and a few months back mine started to get the about to rip look so I started to watch E-Bay because the dealer wants $270 just for that one seat panel. Anyways I scored a brand new entire factory set that were taken off a truck with 100 miles on it to put leather on for $225. I think I did pretty good. They are on there once in a while but you've got to keep your eyes open. The ones I got are perfect.
