Was trying to replace the front up/down seat adjustment motor yesterday, and when I removed the shaft from the "collar" (pictured below and not sure what to call it)... Something broke or was stripped. There were no instructions so I wasnt sure exactly how to proceed. Long story is the old motor was locked in the position it was in but would spin freely when the shaft was removed. So... This part is stripped. Any ideas what to do next?

Thanks

I think there should be a recall on these seat motor asys mine failed justout of warrenty dealer wanted over $800 for the parts. I made soilid shafts and locked the seat where I wanted the seat located. This is a safety issue should the seat fail while your driving.....

Photos?

Do you have any photos of the solid shafts and how you attached them you might be able to share? I'd like to just lock it in the all down position on the front.

Thanks

Craig

Got any wrecking yards nearby? Go pull a seat bottom apart and replace it, it's about the only thing you can do and keep the power adjustment.

I HATE power seats. They take longer to get where I want them, they are way heavier, and they break more often. I'll pass. Just give me a release lever fore/aft and another lever for seat back tilt.
